Meet Jaye Mungcal, a P1 at CNUCOP!

Jaye’s interest in pharmacy was sparked during undergraduate studies in chemistry. Fascinated by drug synthesis and pharmacokinetics, he was drawn to the industry side of pharmacy.

Jaye joined CPhA to be part of a community of student pharmacists and advocate for the profession. As a member of the CPhA Board of Directors, he hopes to educate peers on the progressiveness of pharmacy and amplify CNUCOP’s voice.

Outside of school, Jaye enjoys playing video games with friends and exploring new food spots!

📢 California Issues New Vaccine Guidance Under AB 144

Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 144 into law, authorizing California to base its future vaccine guidance on credible, independent medical organizations.

At the same time, California joined Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii in releasing unified vaccine recommendations for the 2025–26 season through the West Coast Health Alliance. These cover COVID-19, influenza, and RSV.

✅ These steps ensure families continue to have access to safe, effective, and science-based vaccine guidance.

🌟 Meet Patrick Sison, P3 at Keck Graduate Institute School of Pharmacy!

💊 Patrick’s journey into pharmacy began during a deeply personal time. When his late father was battling stage 4 glioblastoma, Patrick witnessed firsthand the impact of medications and compassionate care. This experience sparked not only his fascination with drug mechanisms and medicinal chemistry but also a genuine passion for helping others through pharmacy.

🤝 He joined CPhA to build connections with like-minded peers and advocate for the pharmacy profession, especially in expanding scope of practice while protecting pharmacists. As a member of the CPhA Board of Directors, Patrick is eager to increase legislative awareness among student pharmacists and keep everyone up to date on important policy changes.

🏄‍♂️ Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys surfing, 🤤 eating great food, and 😴 catching up on sleep when he can!
