✨ Another Special Day at Saint Raphael’s ✨
Yesterday was one of those unforgettable volunteer days for Dr. Ly at Saint Raphael’s Dental Clinic—filled with heart, skill, and memorable moments.
1️⃣ A home run day for patients. Every patient walked out with a positive outcome. One patient even had a dangerously high blood pressure reading of 210/120, yet his tooth was successfully and safely removed—without a single complication.
2️⃣ A learning exchange across continents. Dr. Puneet, a prosthodontist from India working on his U.S. dental license, came by for observation hours. He picked up anesthesia tips from Dr. Ly and shared, “Dr. Ly, your energy is so vibrant.”Dr. Ly smiled and replied, “You have to be—patients need that energy to feel comfortable and to ease their anxiety about the dentist.”
3️⃣ A priceless patient interaction. Maria, a 72-year-old patient, needed two extractions. Before treatment, she said, “My dentist was the best dentist.”�Dr. Ly, with a playful grin, replied: “Well, I bet I’ll be even better.”�Maria teased back: “I’ll let you know after.”
True to form, Maria didn’t feel a single thing during the injections or extractions—not even the prick of the needle. When Dr. Ly asked afterward, “So… am I the best dentist now?” Maria, smiling but loyal, said: “Yes… but I’ve been with my dentist for a long time.” ☺️
