My grandfather was a budding photographer when he was in high school in the early 1930s and he was also in theater. One of the things that was luckily left to me after he passed away was several photo albums, one of them included several photos of him, and my mom and her sisters, and my grandmother from when they were all babies and young and the other one was my grandfather‘s high school stuff his dance cards, photographs of friends, fun times at Lake Almanor and lots of other wonderful things and photographs. several of the people in the photographs were not family members so I did some research on ancestry.com to see if I could locate these people and I located most of them on ancestry. Unfortunately, none of them were still living. It would’ve been wonderful to talk to them about my grandfather and their high school days, something I never talk to my grandfather about. I reached out to their family members and provided pictures to them of their grandparents, most likely their grandparents or even their great grandparents when they were high school seniors in 1933. You never know what you’re gonna find in your grandparents, closet or photo, albums, or memories. I made some new friends connected some people to photographs that they didn’t have or had never seen and thoroughly enjoyed being able to do that for them.

Imagine all the moms that came before: the good ones, the bad ones, the hopeful ones, the desperate ones, the joyful ones. To all you mom's out there, setting the new generation on the path to a good life, or celebrating the path that your children have created, I wish you joy and peace and love. ❤️ happy Mother's Day.

It's important to remember in these times that who we were makes up who we are. We mustn't forget the terrible past, as well as the good past; the inhumanity of humans, or the humanity of humans. We must strive to be better people. Knowing who you are and where you come from, and how we are all a global mix, should bring you closer to other people and not push us apart.

A favorite past time of my father's when he was a boy: hockey. I learned many small details about my family, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and stories of my father's past, from photos just like this that inspired questions and great conversations with my dad.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my followers and listeners and friends. It's been a lovely day.

Thanksgiving is a very old tradition that you can make whatever you choose out of. In my family, we give thanks for the blessings that we have and have had; for the friends and family around us and no longer with us; for the ancestors that came before us and pave the way.

I wish you peace and joy and love on this holiday for you and your families

For some, cemeteries are places of sadness. For me, they are places of peace. I did some "creepin' " today around Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding, CA, as I have some ancestors there.

After a week of beautiful weather, it's a rainy Saturday. I often sit and contemplate on how my ancestors felt about rainy days. Many were farmers or people who worked outdoors. I've always found it interesting and somehow a little comforting to think of them, spending their days as I do, going about their lives. I wonder if they ever thought about their future grandchildren, great grandchildren or even farther into the future generations of their family line. Did they think they were successful at making a good future? Would they be proud of the path they created?
