Meet our 2025 President-Elect, Jeffery Hudson-Covolo DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE!

Jeffery is the Vice President, Patient Care Services & Chief Nurse Executive at Sierra View Medical Center and has been one of our most active ACNL members for ten years now. In addition to serving on numerous committees, he also represented the Central Region on the Board of Directors from 2018-2020 and served as Secretary/Treasurer from 2022-2024 before being elected to serve as our 2026 President. He is also a faculty member for our wonderful Foundations for Leadership Excellence program where he teaches nurse leaders everything they need to know about finance.

"Be authentic to yourself and others," Jeffery advises fellow nurses. "Seek joy. Provide grace and tolerance. Be open to relationship-based leadership, which builds trust and mutual respect. Find a mentor that will provide feedback that supports and engages in your professional development and growth. Finally, pull someone else along and support their journey to greatness!"

Meet our 2025 Board President, Marlena Montgomery, MSN, MBA, RN, FACHE!

Marlena is the Chief Nursing Officer at Sharp Coronado and has been an ACNL member since 2014, serving for many years on the Health Policy Committee as a member and later Committee Co-Chair. She also served on the Board of Directors as the San Diego representative from 2017-2018.

Marlena was voted President-Elect in 2023 and assumed the role of ACNL President earlier this year.

Marlena's favorite quote about leadership comes from Orison Swett Marden, who founded Success magazine in 1897: “There is no investment you can make which will pay you so well as the effort to scatter sunshine and good cheer through your establishment.”

📢 New Episode Release: ACNL in Action Podcast 📢

In our newest episode, host Charlene Platon talks with Molly Rodriguez, Senior Program Manager at Stanford Health Care.

Molly recently presented at the ACNL Annual Conference in February on a succession planning tool she and her team developed to identify future nurse leaders. The assessment tool was designed to be able to be completed in just ten minutes and could serve as a model for other organizations looking to improve their own succession planning. Charlene and Molly talk about why succession planning matters, how to identify future nurse leaders, and Molly's advice for other organizations.
