✨ I had the pleasure of attending the Dental Association’s 102nd Presidential Inauguration & Scholarship Gala in Sacramento. For over a century, the NDA has opened doors for Black dentists and fought for oral health equity in places where it’s needed most — and that feeling of legacy was unmistakable throughout the event.

Congratulations to the NDA’s 102nd President, Dr. Wallace Bellamy, whose theme, “Architects of Change,” calls on us to lead with intention and build a future that strengthens both our profession and our communities. His message reflects a vision that is both forward-thinking and deeply grounded in service.

More than $104,000 was raised to support NDA programs and initiatives, and what stood out most was the organization’s commitment to the entire dental team — honoring pre-dental students, hygienists, and dental assistants alongside dentists. The focus was not just on leadership, but on inclusivity, mentorship, and advancing every pathway into oral health.

The celebration also included continuing education led by dynamic speakers, creating space for learning, connection, and renewed purpose.

I’m proud to support an organization that is shaping the future of oral health and opening doors for the generations to come. 💙

I recently had the opportunity to deepen my expertise about the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique—an innovative, minimally invasive way to treat gum recession without scalpels or grafts. After attending Dr. John Chao’s training in Alhambra, California last month, I’m excited about how this technique allows for treating multiple areas in a single visit, making the process quicker and more comfortable for patients.

It was great to connect with fellow clinicians and see how ongoing advances in periodontal care continue to improve outcomes and am looking forward to applying these techniques to help patients restore their smile and gum health.

This wasn’t my first time attending a presentation by Dr. Chao, but it’s always great to expand knowledge on leading-edge subject matter! Since introducing this procedure in my practice since 2014, I’ve been able to help many patients achieve better gingival health which ultimately leads to improved oral health.

Last weekend, I had the inspiring opportunity to present at the Sistah to Sistah Summit in Houston—a powerful gathering of women dentists coming together to share experiences, grow professionally, and support each other.

The event covered a wide range of topics, from advanced clinical procedures like Invisalign, dental implants, and oral surgery, to essential business strategies including tax planning, savings, and legal protections.

I feel truly honored for the chance to present information about the One-Piece Dental Implant Procedure to such amazing women filled with positivity and great energy; and I look forward to staying connected to everyone!
