Country Club Manor Celebrates Presidentsâ Day with White House China and Presidential Memorabilia Display
Sacramento, CA â Residents of Country Club Manor, a CiminoCare assisted living community in Sacramento, CA, celebrated Presidentsâ Day in grand style with an exhibit of Presidential Plates and memorabilia.
Jeffrey Dillon, who worked in Washington, D.C., in the U.S. House of Representatives during the 1980s, began collecting Presidential Plates during his time in the nationâs capital. Each year, Dillon shares his collection with senior communities in honor of Presidents Day, bringing history to life through carefully curated displays. This year, Country Club Manor was privileged to host his collection, allowing residents to enjoy a unique glimpse into the legacy of the American presidency.
The exhibit featured a variety of Presidential Plates, many of which are modeled after the White House China used by past presidents. The tradition of official White House China dates back to President James Monroe in 1817, with each administration selecting its own distinctive patterns since then. These fine porcelain pieces reflect the styles and historical influences of their respective eras, making them treasured artifacts of American history.
Residents and guests at Country Club Manor were fascinated by the display, which served as the centerpiece of a weeklong celebration of U.S. Presidents. The festivities included educational presentations, patriotic music, trivia games, and themed activities highlighting key moments in presidential history.
âWe are so grateful to Jeffrey Dillon (who is a Regional Director for Operations and Marketing for CiminoCare) for sharing his collection with us,â said Mark Cimino, CEO of CiminoCare. âIt was a wonderful opportunity for our residents to connect with history and celebrate the legacy of our nationâs leaders.â
The celebration of Presidentsâ Day at Country Club Manor highlights the company's commitment to lifelong learning and cultural enrichment.
