Hello BayaFam! Bayanihan Clinic is hosting our second Diabetes Empowerment Program Workshop. Our workshop will be taking place over zoom from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Flu season is here and that means it’s time to get your flu shot! We’re happy to announce that we have two flu clinics coming up: October 15th and November 12th.

TOGETHER, Bayanihan Clinic was able to donate and support over $5000 to organizations focused on the Black Lives Matter movement. The NAACP Legal Defense Fund and The Loveland Foundation will each receive half of the donations! The receipts are attached to the second photo. Thank you again to everyone who was able to share and donate and remember that the fight for this movement does NOT stop here!!

EDUCATING YOURSELF is one of the STRONGEST forms of ACTIVISM.

***UPDATE: We have reached our goal and raised $2,135! We will now be able to donate over $5,000. We will still accept donations; however, we will no longer be able to match your donation. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and this movement!!***

Together, help us raise $4,000 in support of BLM. Venmo with “BLM” in the caption and we will match YOUR donation (up to $500)! A company representative will then triple our donation, potentially totally up to $4,000!

We will evenly distribute the money between NAACP Legal Defense Fund and The Loveland Foundation. Every amount counts, and together we will continue fighting for justice, morality, and equity.

We at Bayanihan Clinic understand that we could do better to support the Black community, and we will strive to educate ourselves on the historical context of health disparities and the role of the healthcare in systemic oppression and racism. We are open to discussion, comments, and resources on how we can be better advocates right now and continuing well into the future. As individuals involved in healthcare, Bayanihan Clinic is taking this moment as a learning opportunity to educate ourselves and each other about the historical reasons behind health disparities and promoting to dismantle the systems that continually oppress Black communities. We strongly encourage the medical community, other student-run clinics, Filipinx community, and beyond to stand in solidarity with the Black community and continue to fight for justice, morality, and equity.
