Last week, CAHF Vice President for Policy Yvonne Choong joined CAHF members at the Senate Budget Subcommittee No. 3 on Health and Human Services to advocate for the preservation of the Workforce Quality Incentive Program (WQIP) funding—an essential investment in California’s long-term care workforce.
During the hearing, providers and stakeholders shared firsthand perspectives on how the loss of WQIP funding would directly affect skilled nursing facilities across the state—impacting workforce stability, quality of care, and access for vulnerable residents.
We are grateful to the many members who showed up, shared their stories, and underscored the real-world consequences behind budget decisions. Your advocacy ensures policymakers hear directly from those delivering care on the front lines.
CAHF will continue working with state leaders to protect investments that support quality care and a strong, sustainable workforce.
