The Sacramento Public Library Bookmobile visits River's Edge every month to bring fresh reads to our residents. This month was extra special, because our very own Susan was ready for them. As a retired librarian herself, she dressed for the occasion in her beautiful festive librarian dress.

It’s time for our Home for the Holidays: Door Décor Contest – Round 1! 🎄

Our residents and team at River's Edge have been busy decking the halls from resident apartments to our laundry room, resident store, sales office, Zest office, and even our Executive Director Marianne's office! Now, we want your help choosing our community’s winning door.

How to vote:
1️⃣ Browse the doors in this post (each one has a number!)

This year, our gratitude is colorful and constantly in motion.

River's Edge has been a true creative hub in 2025. Between the detailed work in our crafting sessions and the beautiful pieces coming out of the art studio, our residents kept their hands busy and their imaginations active. But we didn't just create art; we lived it.

We found joy in movement on the dance floor and joined the company-wide Tour de Zest with enthusiasm. Whether we were admiring the classic lines at our Car Show, raising a glass at Oktoberfest, or heading out on another community outing, the energy here never slowed down.

Thank you for a year that has been as vibrant as the art on our walls. Happy Thanksgiving from our community to you! 🍁 💛

A table full of handwritten “Intentions Cards” says a lot about the hearts in our River’s Edge community! Our Assisted Living residents wanted anyone who needs a spiritual pick-me-up to feel seen, so they spent time writing simple words of care and encouragement to share. 💌

It is a small way of spreading kindness, but it carries a lot of meaning for the neighbors, families, and team members who might need that extra boost in their day!

Paint-smeared palettes and a soft pink wash set the tone at River’s Edge as our group worked on Van Gogh-inspired sunflowers! Some kept the pink underpainting, others let it peek through, and every canvas took on its own personality very quickly. The bright greens and yellows sparked lively color discussions around the table, and Mary got everyone laughing when she joked that her green vase “needed a chip to dip!” 🌻🎨

River’s Edge residents visited The Mustard Seed School to deliver Halloween treats for staff and students!

Their program director welcomed us, shared how the school operates, and the visit landed deeply for our volunteer crew. Our residents work hard in providing support through our various charity events through the year, so it had a big impact on each of them to see the campus and children. 🎃🎒🤝
