Sacramento Children's Home

Sacramento Children's Home Since 1867, the Sacramento Children's Home has been dedicated to caring for our community's most vulnerable children and families.

With multiple community programs across six locations, the Sacramento Children's Home makes a difference in the lives of approximately 7,000 children and 4,600 families each year. OUR PROGRAMS

Our COUNSELING CENTER offers innovative counseling techniques to help children heal from trauma and improve the parent-child relationship. Our two CRISIS NURSERIES provide free child care, overnight care, and case management services for families with children age 0-5 during a crisis. Our EDUCATION PROGRAM offers a variety of after-school and enrichment activities to make learning fun and help SCH residents get the most from their education. Our eVIBE (Early Violence Intervention Begins with Education) program helps students and their families avoid violence and develop safe relationships at school and at home. Our three FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS build strong families through parent education, crisis intervention, connection to resources, and social support. Our RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM provides intensive mental health care in a group home setting for abused, neglected, or emotionally disturbed males age 6-21. Our WRAPAROUND PROGRAM provides individualized support to families to ensure that youth in residential care return to a safe, stable community home.

Today, some of our team wore blue in support of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

We came together for a photo shoot to show our shared commitment to protecting children and strengthening families in our community.

Behind every service we provide is a simple belief: every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and cared for.

We’re proud to stand together in this work—today and every day. 💙

Thank you to those of you from our Admin team, Tutoring, and Residential who showed support today.

We wanted to share a highlight from our community outreach last weekend! Our team at the South Sacramento Family Resource Center- Valley Hi recently connected with neighbors at Providence Place Apartments. 🌟

In partnership with Rose Empowerment Development Inc., they spent the day visiting residents door-to-door and invited families to join a gathering on the lawn. Families learned about resources, enjoyed free hot dogs, snacks, and drinks—and took home diapers, books, and water filters.

It was a joyful reminder of the power of community and the connections that can be created when people come together. 💛

Families in our community are facing increasing challenges—and more parents are reaching out in moments of crisis, simply needing a safe place for their young children.

In 2025, our Crisis Nursery provided 5,042 safe stays to babies and toddlers—a 19% increase from the year before. Each number represents a child kept safe and a family supported when they needed it most.

As the need continues to grow, monthly support helps ensure we can always be there.

💛 Join our Sustainers Circle and help us say “yes” to every family who calls.

Join the Sustainers Circle here: https://www.kidshome.org/cnsc/

P.S. If you join the Sustainers Circle this month, you'll receive a free “I’m a Sustainer” camper mug as a thank-you for investing in year-round care!
