Late but nevertheless important - we want to give a huge shout out to our graduating class of 2025! Please know that the delay doesn’t take away from how meaningful this day is or how proud we are of each and every one of you. Your time here at Sac State DPT was filled with dedication, growth, and countless moments of connection, and we are so grateful to have been part of your journey. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do next — and we hope you’ll stay in touch and share your adventures with us!

Job well done to our students and faculty with REACH clinic for a great start to their collaboration with UCD Med Center's, Shifa clinic! Our students had their first session on Saturday November 1st working alongside UCD med students and helping out at their community clinic in downtown sac!

DPT had the opportunity to collaborate with Yousef Ghandour, PT, DPT, MOMT along with his colleagues for a free lecture session for our students and faculty on Friday, October 17th from 2 pm – 5 pm on Lumbar Instability: Differential Diagnosis & Treatment Progression. The lecture was followed by a Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN), sponsored networking event, and hosted a student social! Thank you to Dr. Ghandour and colleagues for their time!

Dr. Katrin Mattern-Baxter and Dr. Rennie Saltzman are looking for volunteer toddlers between the ages of 15 months and 5 years for the Annual Toddler Lab. The lab will be held on Tuesday, September 2 from 9:45-10:45am at Folsom Hall. Parking will be provided. As every year, children will be assessed for their motor skills by 3rd year DPT students as part of their pediatric coursework.

Department of Physical Therapy attended a successful Renaissance Society Open House on Friday August 8th! Many thanks to our students, Alfredo Delgado and Justin Estrada along with faculty, Dr. Megan Self and Dr. Rolando Lazaro represented for the department and provided information to participants about the various clinics and services we offer throughout the academic year.

Sac State first year DPT students participated in the BikeFit program at Shriners Hospital for Children this summer and got the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life, helping them learn to ride a bike!
