Dynamic Hatha Yoga is a powerful balance of long holds and flow with pranayama woven in. Our aim is to create meditative movement and feel a profound duality of focus and relaxation. Various posture options are available to meet students where they are at. A long closing sequence will prepare us for a very deep relaxation in savasana.

About your instructor: Gabriel Benjamin has been practicing and teaching yoga since 2001. With five certifications in Yoga and Ayurveda, he blends a deep understanding of body mechanics with a passion for movement and pranayama.

An avid cyclist and endurance athlete, Gabriel specializes in using yoga to support injury recovery and balance the nervous system. He is also a writer, nature guide, and advocate for mental flexibility. His teaching helps individuals build strength, mindfulness, and adaptability, both physically and mentally.

Gabriel leads retreats and workshops around the world and is based in Folsom, California, where he raises two young sons. He is grateful to his mother, Martha Posey, for introducing him to yoga early in life.

Chi Gong (Qigong) is a traditional Chinese practice that blends slow, intentional movements with focused breathing and mental awareness to support the body’s natural energy, called qi (or chi). It is gentle, adaptable, and accessible to people of all ages. We’re excited to offer this weekday class in addition to our Saturday class!

Relieves stress and tension through calming breathwork and mindful movement

Boosts energy levels by enhancing circulation and flow of qi

About your instructor: I was born into a family of medical professionals—my father, a doctor trained in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine, and my mother, a nurse. Growing up in such an environment, the seeds of healing were planted early in my heart. Additionally, my deep passion for dance led me to follow my heart and devote myself to the art of movement—Qigong.

With Qigong being an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), I was able to quickly grasp its essence and earned certifications as an advanced Qigong instructor and an intermediate Tai Chi coach, under the guidance of a highly regarded Qigong master, Dr. Jessie Tsao. Tai Chi is a centuries-old practice that promotes balance, relaxation, and inner strength through gentle, flowing movement. Of the five major styles—Chen, Yang, Sun, Wu, and Woo—Chen Style is the oldest and most dynamic.

Characterized by fluid, spiral-like movements and standing meditation, Chen Tai Chi blends softness with strength, and stillness with motion. These practices are designed to awaken and circulate the body’s internal energy, or qi.
Join us for this beginner-friendly introduction series, where you’ll explore the foundational elements of Chen Tai Chi, including:

Basic breathing techniques
Fundamental movements
Coordinated energy exercises
The first section of the traditional Chen Tai Chi form

About your instructor: William Bi began his martial arts journey in childhood and deepened his practice during his college years with a focus on Tai Chi. He has competed in numerous martial arts tournaments across China, earning multiple medals in both Tai Chi and traditional martial arts competitions.

In 2010, after 14 years of dedicated study, William was formally accepted as a disciple of Grandmaster Wang Xian—one of the most renowned living masters of Chen Style Tai Chi. With this honor, he was recognized as an official 12th-generation successor of the Chen Style lineage in China.

William brings a deep respect for tradition along with a clear, approachable teaching style that supports beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

As we age, maintaining balance and muscle strength becomes essential to staying active and independent. Loss of stability increases the risk of falls, which can significantly impact quality of life and are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among seniors over 65.

Join us for this fun and informative two-hour workshop designed to help you improve strength, stability, and confidence in movement. Led by Krishna Lila Dasi, RYT-500, you’ll learn:

✔️ Simple self-assessments to gauge your fall risk
✔️ Yoga poses and exercises to enhance balance and coordination
✔️ Strength-building techniques to support mobility and prevent falls
✔️ Practical tips for incorporating these exercises into your daily routine

We will be using chairs for support and assistance throughout the workshop, making it accessible and effective for a variety of ability levels.

While this workshop is especially beneficial for active seniors, it is open to people of all ages who want to build strength, improve balance, and move with greater confidence. Participants should be able to stand unassisted and transition safely from the floor to a standing position. An exercise guide will also be provided to help you continue practicing at home.

Six Truths for Spiritual Happiness

A some friends shared this beautiful wisdom recently and we thought that it’s too good not to share ✨

1. My body and mind are not me - I am an eternal spiritual being (atma)

2. This world is not my home. It is a temporary and impermanent place. I am a transient in this life.

3. I am eternal and should therefore also seek my happiness in that which is eternal.

4. I can stimulate my body and mind with varieties of sensual activities and pleasures but this will never really satisfy me within.

5. Seeking the eternal in that which is impermanent (this world, material experiences, and material relationships) will always eventually lead to disappointment and even despair.

6. Blissful happiness is your eternal right, but seek it in the spiritual realm, not the material realm. The authentic sacred mantras we chant are spiritual sounds, and they are our door into the spiritual realm, a place of unconditional love and union with our Spiritual Source.
