Happy National French Fry Day!

Today, (Friday, July 11) is National French Fry Day! Whether straight cut, crinkled, curly, shoestring, steak cut, waffle or wedge shape, Americans love French Fries consuming nearly 30 pounds per person per year. While there is a shared love of French fries, opinions vary widely on toppings, seasonings, and dipping sauces. Plain old salt is the most popular seasoning, but others like garlic, parmesan cheese, paprika, and Cajun seasonings also make the list. When it comes to dipping sauces, classic ketchup reigns supreme, followed by ranch, cheese sauce, BBQ, and mayo.

In addition to discussing and debating important issues affecting members, their patients, the Association, and the practice of medicine, the 2025 CPMA House of Delegates elected the 2025-2026 Board of Directors and honored members for their service.

1. President Phong Le (l) presented the 2025 President's Award to Devon Glazer, DPM, Western General Chair.
2. CPMA Executive Director Michael Cornelison, DPM (r), presented the 2025 Executive Director Award to Basil Besh, DPM, Past President of COA.
3. Heather McGuire, DPM, Secretary-Treasurer (r), presented CPMA's 2025 Image Award to Holly Spohn-Gross, DPM, CPMA Past President and current APMA Trustee.
4. Ebonie Vincent-Sleet, DPM, Director (l), presented the 2025 Society President of the Year Award to Renee Woo, DPM, President of the Alameda/Contra Costa Podiatric Medical Association.
5. Yaseer Parupia, DPM, Director, presented CPMA's 2025 Rising Star of the Year Award to Christy King, DPM.
6. Thomas Rambacher, DPM, Director (l) presented the 2025 Step Up Award to Steve Ginex, DPM.
7. Thomas Elardo, DPM, Chair, CalPPAC (l), presented the 2025 CalPPAC Awards for the Society with the Highest Number of Members Contributing and the Society with the Highest Total Contribution to David Pougatsch, DPM, President of the LA County Podiatric Medical Association/CPMA Director.
8. Dr. Elardo also presented the CalPPAC Honorable Mention Award to Misha Tavaf, DPM, President, Santa Clara Valley Podiatric Medical Association.
9. Newly installed CPMA President Arman Kirakosian, DPM (l), presented Immediate Past President Phong Le, DPM, with the Service Above Self Award.
