Today we celebrated World Art Day, a day that highlights the importance of creativity and how art helps us express ourselves, connect with others, and find joy at every stage of life.

At Revere Court, we honored the day with hands-on creativity, including art projects and a stitching activity. Residents stitched fabric pieces together and filled them with soft batting, creating simple, tactile keepsakes. Activities like this are especially meaningful because they connect to familiar skills many residents have used throughout their lives.

Art and crafting offer powerful benefits for individuals living with dementia. They can help stimulate memory, reduce anxiety, and provide a calming, purposeful focus. The repetitive motions of stitching can be soothing, while the act of creating something tangible builds confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Even more, these shared activities encourage connection, conversation, and moments of joy.

Most importantly, they allow our residents to continue expressing who they are through creativity.

Honoring Choice means we respect and embrace the unique needs and interests of every resident, ensuring they remain active participants in their daily experiences. This commitment to personal connection and respect is reflected at every level of care and service we provide.

Example, during a casual one-on-one conversation, Paul mentioned that he’s been needing to stretch his legs . What happened next was a perfect example of what makes our community so special.

Evelyn, a health and wellbeing expert and yoga instructor immediately offered to help and guided him through a few gentle yoga stretches. 💙

It’s moments like these that remind us why honoring choice matters. Our residents are not just participants in activities—they are individuals with experiences, skills, and the ability to contribute to one another’s well-being. When we treat each person as an individual and create space for their voices, beautiful connections happen.

🦆 Now Admitting: Our Seasonal Respite Resident 🌿


Each year, a very special guest returns to Revere Court. Her name is Daisy and we are delighted to welcome her back once again.

Daisy has chosen our community as her seasonal home for nearly a decade. Nestled safely in the shrubbery, she reminds us that comfort, familiarity, and a sense of place matter to all living things.

Our residents have come to look forward to her visits. They watch over her from a respectful distance, check in on her nest, and in past years have had the joy of seeing her es**rt her ducklings on their very first journey to water.

It’s also a fun and educational experience, as residents observe her behaviors and learn more about wildlife right outside our doors.

One favorite detail? She arrives each year with a new male companion, a great reminder that mallards don’t mate for life.

She’s even enjoyed a few duck-approved snacks from her biggest fans here at Revere Court. 💛

While her stay is temporary, the connection she brings is lasting. In a place where routines and meaningful moments matter, her return each year feels like a small but beautiful reminder of life’s rhythms.

Stay tuned as we await the arrival of her newest little residents… 🐣

We are incredibly proud to recognize our very own Resident Services Coordinator, Nicole Hemenover, LVN, on her recent appointment as Galt’s newest Commissioner on the Aging Commission!

Nicole brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare, with a background spanning family practice, OB/GYN, and senior living—where she has truly found her passion. Her dedication to serving others began early, volunteering as a candy striper in elementary school, inspired by her grandmother, a nurse whose legacy she proudly carries forward.

At Revere Court, Nicole is nothing short of exceptional. She is a true pillar of strength within our community. Her leadership, clinical expertise, and unwavering commitment to our residents and team make a meaningful impact every single day. She embodies what it means to serve with both heart and excellence.

Nicole’s connection to Galt runs deep—having called it home for over 25 years while raising her three children and actively participating in the community. Her personal and professional passion for supporting seniors makes this role a perfect and well-deserved fit.

In her new role, Nicole will help represent the interests of older adults, working alongside the City Council to enhance programs, advocate for senior needs, and improve quality of life for the aging population in Galt.

Nicole, we are so proud of you and grateful to have you as part of the Revere Court family. Your dedication, heart, and leadership continue to inspire us all. Congratulations on this incredible achievement—you are truly deserving! 💙
