Empaths may sometimes become therapist, workers in the helping field, social workers, workers in the medical field, preachers, veterinarians, IT workers…to name a few.

As children they struggle managing their own emotions, so many, so strong; not knowing which ones are theirs & which one’s are from other people. People seek them as good listeners and not uncommon that they can often be “dumped on” or be emotionally vulnerable to be abused.

They are naturally sensitive, aware, open receivers and attuned to others & their environment. Peers will seek them out & they can become very popular among their peers. Or targeted, made fun of, bullied, labeled as “too sensitive”.

Being an “empath” can be very difficult when you are a child. But know that it can be better. Being an “empath” as an adult can also be challenging when you have focus on shutting that part of yourself, numb it, pretend you are just going to be different, tough.

Learning to manage your empathetic abilities makes a difference. It will help you become better at what you do and understand your natural abilities as gifts and talents you have. Not uncommon that you too may often be called an “old soul”.

To all empaths out there: remember take care of yourself first to continue to care for others, do your own work to learn how to manage & practice self care & have a very good practice in knowing your limits and boundaries. When feeling overwhelm or in need - seek the help of a therapist to help you manage your empathic abilities, skills so that you can cope & thrive better in life!

Therapy goals? What are you seeking therapy for? Sometimes people go to therapy because somebody asked them to, told them it would be good or said they had to. Ouch- that kind of therapy may not go very far. & really they may just be wasting their time & my time in therapy.

Believe me - some people go to therapy to apease someone who might be nagging them. They are not looking to grow, change anything because they really don’t see that there are any issues. A common statement they make is “ This is just the way I am”.

& then sometimes - the timing it’s just off. They are not ready to welcome growth or change because this may challenge or scare them. Or it may challenge other family members to grow with them.

But if you are, great! ✨You no longer need to stay stuck, because life can be so much better for you, your loved ones & everyone around you!
