Aubri was a rockstar through her long PICU admission while recovering from heart surgery. So grateful to the physical therapists for their use of OshKosh B'gosh overalls to help Aubri’s mom walk her safely through the halls. Aubri was a bright light in the PICU over the past month.

As we’re nearing the end of , we’re shining a spotlight on some of our incredible cardiovascular team members for the exceptional care they provide. We asked Sharlene Mooney, a dedicated nurse at our Children’s Center, why she’s so passionate about her work:

“I am so grateful to be part of Sutter’s Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU! Every day I get to witness the amazing strength and resilience of our patients and their families, while supporting them on their medical journey. I find it incredibly rewarding to be a member of this multidisciplinary team as we collectively work to provide the best care possible for our little Heart Warriors!”

Many are unaware of how widespread this condition is until it touches their lives. In honor of National Congenital Heart month, Sutter recognizes pediatric patient Luna for being a heart hero. Luna loved participating in music therap sessions, long walks in the hallway and hanging out with our facility dogs while recovering from surgery.
