Lately, we’ve seen a rise in scams targeting seniors, especially through phone calls, texts, and emails. One common scam involves someone pretending to be a grandchild in distress—claiming they’ve been arrested or are hurt and urgently need money. They commonly ask you not to tell other family members like their mom and dad.

Here are some tips to protect your loved ones:

✅ Pause & Verify – Encourage your family to never act under pressure. Always hang up and call a known number to verify the story.
✅ No Gift Cards or Wire Transfers – These are the top red flags of a scam.
✅ Never Share Personal Info – Especially banking or Social Security details over the phone.
✅ Use Call Blocking Tools – Reduce robocalls and suspicious numbers from reaching them.

Every Second Counts in a Stroke Emergency!

A stroke can happen anytime, anywhere—and recognizing the warning signs can save lives. At Welcome Home Care, we believe knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your health.

💡 Use the F.A.S.T. Test:
• F – Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side droop?
• A – Arms: Ask them to raise both arms. Does one drift downward?
• S – Speech: Is their speech slurred or strange?
• T – Time: Call 911 immediately if you see any of these signs.
