e+ Studios is now in pre-production on a short film, written by our own Chase Yancey,
"THE DEAL"
“A young aspiring filmmaker and screenwriter named Ethan Vance, who has recently finished his first screenplay, eagerly awaits his first pitch meeting, while attempting to calm his nerves with the help of an old childhood friend.”
Over the next few days, we will be introducing you to The Director/Writer as well as our very talented cast we have assembled.
So, first up is the Director/Writer of "The Deal' Chase Yancey
My name is Chase Yancey. I am 29 years old. When I was around 5 years old I was diagnosed with high functioning Autism/ AKA Aspergers, and have many passions in my life. The first is basketball. I’ve grown up loving and watching basketball all my life being a fan of the Kings (unfortunately). Basketball was my biggest passion in life until something else which I will discuss later became a passion of mine. Second is travel. I have currently been to 25 states, with the life goal of gong to all 50 before I die, and have been to 10 countries, and plan on going to many more. My 3rd life passion is history. I love studying the events of our past, learning about the remarkable stories of history, and how we came to where we are today. My favorite historical event to study is the American Civil War, as I am practically an expert on the matter. However, my biggest passion in life for the past 10 years, has been films. I have always loved films deeply. However, when I saw Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” in IMAX for the first time, my life was changed. I all of the sudden had a deep unquenchable hunger and thirst to learn about how films are made. Ever since, everything I know about filmmaking from development, pre-production, production, and post production is entirely self taught. Some other filmmaking heroes of mine are Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Denis Villeneuve, David Fincher, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa, and Guillermo Del Toro. I recently finished writing my first screenplay “Sallie,” which has been named an official selection of the Sacramento International Film Festival, the Best Screenplay Winner of the Chicago Feedback Film Festival, and recently tied for 2nd at the Cleveland Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Cleveland, Ohio! While I am pursuing my teaching credential to teach US history at the high school level, it is my dream to write and direct major blockbuster films. I know I still have much to learn about the world of filmmaking, and I am so excited to continue learning!
