About Dr. Pirko
A native of Germany, Dr. Pirko Maguiña (Dr. Pirko, for short.) is fluent in three languages – German, Spanish and English – and brings a variety of international experiences to his profession. After living in Europe, Asia, South, Central and North America, he studied medicine in Lima, Peru before completing his residency training and fellowships in the United States.
Dr. Pirko first came to Sacramento to join the medical team of both the University of California Davis and the Shriners Hospital for Children in 2008. Having performed thousands of surgeries in all areas of Plastic Surgery Dr. Pirko has gained the skills and experience that allow him to visualize his patients’ problems and help them get the results they want.
As an associate professor of Surgery, Dr. Pirko has trained dozens of surgeons in the art of Plastic Surgery. He has given over 100 lectures on Plastic Surgery both nationally and internationally and has traveled the world to help children and adults in need or Plastic Surgery. To date, he has completed over 30 trips. Though his charitable work, he has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help those in need of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Pirko Maguiña is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Burn Association, and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, The American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Greater Sacramento Society of Plastic Surgeons.
