My 2024 NEW YEARS RESOLUTION is that you guys ....my friends and fam ....🫵🏼🫵🏼🫵🏼 follow through on YOUR RESOLUTIONS 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
(particularly health/fitness, but of course any life related resolutions as well)
I'm not going to harp about what new "trendy diet" to follow or what magical exercise that i keep secret but if you click here now BS....aka Grizzsanity....G-SHRED 😂 ....
💡Some things to help you guys out and keep the goal on the horizon realistic. Of course some of these things are going to be redundant but are great reminders for your journey
✳️WATER WORKS MAGIC: If you have poor water intake, this is a super eassssy GAME CHANGER, I used to suggest a gallon a day for everyone no matter what but of course that can be a daunting task for some and maybe difficult for more "mature folk" or the petite sort ... how about shooting for half your weight in ounces to start. You weigh 200lbs shoot for 100oz, weigh 120lbs, shoot for 60 ounces. If you're peeeing a lot, YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT! We're holding so many toxins in our body, and sodium from all the rich foods, packaged foods, KEEP DRINKING DAILY And KEEP PEEING THE EVIL. especially you ladies dealing with monthly bloat and random unexplainable bloat, the Stanley cup is sweet and trendy but drink at least 3 of those for me. It will get easier and i promise you, even if you eat like crap still, the water intake will change your life! Too tough to drink just water, crystal light works wonders, YES it has artificial sweetener, but in the grand scheme of things, if you're drinking the amount of water you should, you will filter/pee out what you think might be harmful. The body is smart 😀
✳️WALKING/JOGGING/RUNNING: if you're not a gym-goer or don't plan on going I get it. Most people default to "I'm going to start running and lose weight" 🛑 ✋🏼 pump the brakes fam....
if your body hasn't been running or jogging in a while....don't do it YET. Start with taking walks, get the arms moving and heart rate up a little. Walk brisk with intention, get the hips, knees and other joints moving again to get the rust out. If you're confident enough to start "yogging" then try the long side of the block then walk the short side of the block. If your lungs are on fire 🔥 from that, you know you got some work to do BUT just by doing that you're telling your body to change for the better and adapt to this new challenge. And build upon this. I realize typing this, that it is a whole can of worms to cover so I'm going to cut it short:
-Walk brisk first, 15-20 minutes then add on more, add jogging short distances in before just starting to
Run and give up because it's hard
-your shoes and socks absolutely make a difference. Get the right ones 🙏🏼🙏🏼
-keep in mind RUNNING is very catabolic, if your goal is to burn fat and get "toned" or "cut/shredded" for the males, you will BURN FAT and MUSCLE if you just use running for losing weight. Once you're running, you HAVE to cross train with weights or you'll
End up skinny fat because that's the nature of the beast, give your body a reason to keep your muscle (weights) it wants to be efficient as possible so it gonna burn the muscle tissue for fuel and keep some fat on you. Another can of worms here 😆
✳️For those jumping into some extreme dieting techniques, oh man, not even going to LIST all that f*ckery of trends etc. You ALL know how those end up, you get gung-ho, announce to everyone what you're doing, lose some bloat, then stall or feel like sh** and go right back to old habits. Then when someone asks you how's that new diet going ....🦗🦗🦗🦗...."yeah it didn't really work for me" 😂 🤔
very very temporary fix and then you give up because it's too hard and extreme and you blow right back up to square one. And you're looking at fricken TIK TOK for the next trendy juicing or stupid lemon water diet fix
STOP 🛑 ✋🏼 .....come back to reality fam
YOU HAVE TO MOVE MORE, OR EAT LESS or ideally a combination of BOTH
The easiest concept but we as humans make it soooooooo complicated now.
Go back to the whiteboard and really think about the food you're eating, CALORIES ARE KING, THEN WE TALK MACROS....
The simple fix: cut your portions down from your daily intake and weekend CHEAT MEALS. right there youre going to be still enjoying allllll the things, but you've cut the calories down big time by cutting portions in half etc. Put the pie 🥧 down fam, share half of it with the homeless instead of the whole pie with your self lol.
Don't go to extremes on diet. Eliminating things like CARBS altogether or my favorite is "I'm cutting all sugar out" 🙄🙄. Again 🛑 ✋🏼
There's so much information and MISINFORMATION out there now, so please please look for consistencies with the strategies that sound magical and enticing. Cliche as it is ....TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
