I started making my own products because I couldn't find anything strong enough, clean enough, or consistent enough to actually manage my daily pain. So I learned how. And now everything we make at The Good Rub exists for that reason.

These lavender bath bombs are no exception. Made in small batches, with ingredients you can actually trust. 🌿

Pain is hard...but it also forces us to find new ways of coping and managing, and that hopefully leads to living an enjoyable and fruitful life. For me, it created a need for relief which then became my purpose in this life. I am grateful.

What if we really looked at the skin as the organ it is instead of something we just put stuff on....a being that has the ability to carry therapeutic levels of medicine to the most vulnerable and troubled parts of us?

I debated whether to share this.

A customer came in for the first time last week and stole from us. A $3 item. And I know that sounds small — but when you've built something with your hands, your savings, and everything you've got, nothing about it feels small.

Here's the part that stayed with me though: they came back. Bought something. Then came back again — and brought someone with them.

I don't know what to do with that story except tell it. Running a small business means staying open — in every sense of that word — even when it feels a bit vulnerable.

We're still here. Still making things we believe in. Still welcoming everyone through that door.

Recently, Shopify decided they were going to delete the "Reviews" app from their customer's websites. They did give a 3 month notice, but the data collection and migration was not properly set up. There are many store owners gathering to talk about a class action suit as so many of these small businesses rely on their reviews to sell products. Oh, and they are not giving a discount on their subscription fee even though they have cut out one of the MAIN features.

Unfortunately, almost all of our reviews were deleted through this process and they claim there is no way for them to retrieve that data for us. 🤔 I did have some of them backed up, but only about 10% of them.

If you have purchased a product from The Good Rub before, we would be super grateful for your feedback. Each product on our website has the ability to write a review. I will post our site and a few product links in the comments for easy access.

Shopify has been a great option for us for the last few years, but I am starting to wonder if there is a better option out there with the same features. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

We just love this beautiful lady. I've been the lucky girl who has been able to call Vicky my mom for all these years, but she really is the shop mom. Since I was a kid, she's always been a bonus mom to my friends, and that has not changed as we've aged. I am so grateful for her beautiful heart, her funny jokes, her commitment to doing the best job she can, and her role as my mother. She supports and loves me no matter what. Thank you, Mom, for loving me and always having my back. Love you!
