So good news and bad: the bad news is Wade’s labs showed his counts are low. The good news is that we get to spend the weekend out of the hospital while we give his counts more time to come back up. We can’t start his chemo until his counts are up to a certain point. We recheck on Tuesday.

We were able to leave UCD about an hour ago. Wade is eating well, happy more of the time, playing, and feeling mostly normal. Some of his meds make him a little bit sleepier than normal, but everything else is normal. Labs looked good both last night and today. He’s so happy to be outta there and enjoying one of his favorite movies on his little couch cushion. Now I just gotta figure out what’s for dinner.

Wade has to go into the clinic on Monday for labs, then he will be admitted on Thursday for round 4 of chemo.

I’m happy to report that Wade is feeling better. We are still at UCD, but he has not vomited for about a day and his diarrhea is slowly going away. He’s eating, playing, and enjoying his shows. Hopefully labs in the morning will show he’s stabilized and I can get him out of here for more than a day. Wish us luck.

Late update but here we go. We are still at UCD. Wade finished with Apheresis (part of a stem cell transplant process). Wade has also finished this cycle of chemo treatment but is still not feeling well due to side effects. We are hopeful for discharge tomorrow. He’s been an absolute trooper despite what he’s gone through. This round was tough on his little body.

Happy Easter everyone. Just a quick update on Mr. Wade. He had his stem cell harvest at the beginning of the week and now he's going through his third round of chemotherapy. He's definitely handling it better than his last round. Still, some of the same symptoms, but not as scary as his last round.

Our appointment(s) today with Wade’s team didn’t go as well as we would’ve hoped. He’s doing okay but did need a blood transfusion. We go back for round 3 of chemo next week.

Wade has been doing well at home. He’s happiest when we go outside.
We do have to go back to Sac on Tuesday for appointments with his team.

There are a couple of things we need to wrap up here, but it is looking like I get to take Mr. Wade home today ❤️🥰 He’s doing great and we’ll get at least a weekend at home.

Wade is doing much better today. He is finished with this round of chemo, but will need to stay here UC Davis for a day or two more. We are waiting to be moved from the PICU down to pediatrics.
We are watching a few things just to make sure no problems pop up, but overall Wade is in good spirits. This round was painful and really hard on his little body so I’m encouraged to see his happy little self today.

Wade had a better day and night. He had a bit of pain this morning, but we have it under control. He still refuses to eat so the team is trying to come up with a plan to support him nutritionally, hopefully without adding a feeding tube. We don’t want to make him even more uncomfortable. He has two more days of chemo (today and tomorrow). The hope is to discharge him on Tuesday, but he may need to stay if we can’t get nutrition into him.

Unfortunately Wade had an especially rough afternoon yesterday. He’s been very weak and tired today.
Labs do look okay. We’re watching the things we’re concerned about, and we have pain controlled for now.
Based on the treatment he’s getting, the side effects we are seeing are expected and normal.
However, this mama is not okay. Keep praying fam, this is the absolute hardest thing I have ever had to go through…I can’t imagine what Wade feels or thinks.

Wade is having some fun today. Day 2 of round 2 of chemo.
