Crossroads Chiropractic and Natural Medicine (formerly Piro Clinic) provides primary care services from a natural perspective with a specialization in diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases. We do this by spending the necessary time to listen to patient's concerns, ordering specialized diagnostic testing, and outlining natural treatment that is specific and individualized for every patient.
As a holistic practitioner with postdoctoral training in primary care, we specialize in finding the true cause of disease and chronic disease treatment and management.
According to the CDC, six in ten Americans live with at least one chronic disease!
This is such a sad state when we are ranked the highest of 11 comparable countries on healthcare spending, yet the worst in disease and healthcare system management. When it comes to chronic disease, many are seeking answers, and rightfully so! Because without our health, we don’t have much.
Every chronic disease process can foundationally be attributed to inflammation (see more information about this under our “Inflammation” section). However, triggers for inflammatory processes can be different for every person. It is our goal to identify those triggers ranging from chronic, underlying infections to digestive imbalances to toxicities like mold or heavy metals, and eliminate those risk factors in order to prevent, and sometimes even reverse, disease progression. Without identifying these true causes, chronic disease treatment just becomes more about symptom management. Allowing us to investigate for causes liberates us to eliminate symptoms and work to prevent them from returning. Ultimately, it is our goal to bring the body back to optimal function, supporting quality and longevity of life!
Primary Care
As a primary care physician in Safety Harbor, FL it is Dr. Jackson’s goal to examine and evaluate the body as a whole, treat or prevent further disease progression and serve other health needs as they arise in between.
Why Primary Care?
Drastic changes to our healthcare system have transpired over the last 5 to 10 years. It used to be that a primary care doctor would diagnose and treat most conditions, and only refer those cases that were very complex or severe. Primary care doctors even used to deliver non-complicated pregnancies! As the system has moved to more and more specialization, we have lost knowledge in identifying and treating the body as a whole. We see one doctor for our allergies and another for our high blood sugars and yet another for our digestive complaints. With these changes, many chronic diseases are left untreated and primary care has become about symptom management, not diagnosis and prevention.
Primary care looks like treating the common cold while managing the same patient’s diabetes and heart disease. It looks like helping a patient recover from an injury from a fall while long-term working on their balance, dizziness and headaches. Primary care is helping a young woman balance hormones to help with fertility or working to heal the body to minimize needed medications. Primary care is here for all ages and all stages of health. We are here to address whole body health to optimize physical, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Chiropractic Care
We can help with more traditional chiropractic complaints - low back pain, neck pain, shoulder and knee pain. We use a diversified approach mixed with activator and specific muscle work techniques. We will use manual adjustments to the spine or extremities as necessary, but we also have low-impact equipment in the office for patients who need or prefer less intensity.
Clear Mind Brain Mapping
Clear Mind Brain Mapping is a special treatment which can be used to heal different areas of the brain associated with anxiety, depression, spectrum disorders, and ADD/ADHD, among many others. Brain mapping is state-of-the-art technology that records the electrical signals of pathways in the brain. Most people are familiar with how a cardiologist may order an EKG to see the electrical signals of the heart. In a similar method, we can measure how well the brain is functioning by measuring electrical signals through different areas of the brain.
