I have been through the end-of-life experience with two loved ones. It was a great privilege for me. It’s not easy, but it is profound how “dying with someone” teaches you to crack yourself open to experience life.
I'm actually doing this right now.
My best friend is an 85-year-old man. He's healthy and brilliant, but let's face it, he's on a time clock. I promised to finish life with him, and I am honored to be the crazy best friend in our story.
Every word of this entertaining series is important. The lessons are life changing.
As scary as it is to say what you want every moment, it’s worth it! And, crazy enough, it gets easy to do very quickly. The people around you who don't get you will fall off. They will even get mad. Even some of the people you should have been able to count on. It doesn't matter. It won't hurt as much as you think if you let go. You were miserable pretending to be their version of you anyway.
This series will heal parts of you that you didn't know needed healing. It’s a powerful example of how to love one another without conflict. It gives a clear perspective on how painful it is not to be understood. And it’s a beautiful expression of how much better it feels to love and be loved for who you are.
