Around the World of Clubhouse: This Month We're in Michigan, USA

Membership Without Barriers. Recovery Without Limits.

We are excited to share highlights from recent Clubhouse work across Michigan, showing the positive impact of staying true to Clubhouse International Standards and the benefits of the Clubhouse Innovative Prevention (CIP).

- More members are participating regardless of insurance or financial challenges
- Clubhouses are strengthening the Clubhouse Model while expanding access
- Communities are seeing greater connection and pathways to work and education

Pictured here is Rihanna at The Gathering Place Clubhouse. With support from CIP funds, she completed her ServSafe training and is now actively working in the Culinary Unit. This quarter, hundreds of members across Michigan benefited from open, welcoming Clubhouses focused on people and recovery.

Bayside Clubhouse wishes everyone a happy and healthy New Year! We wanted to share some of the festivities we participated in today (: and thank Hidden Harvest for their generosity for their donation of not only delicious ice cream and items for our pantry but Starbucks cups as well! There was a lot to be thankful for 2025 and we look forward to 2026🎆 Thank you to all of the members that attended today, we had a blast!

Tonight was Bayside's annual cookie decorating activity. We watched the classic movie, Home Alone and ate some delish Pizza Hut. We had a great time being creative and socializing. Embracing the holiday season, no matter what that means to each of us, is essential to the inclusiveness of our clubhouse. Being creative and eating is a shared love of all! Happy holiday season to all of our friends!

Bayside joined A Place of Our Own Clubhouse at their annual Turkey Giveaway, sponsored by "Call Center For Hire". This is such a nice community event and we enjoy being a part of it every year. The members made it down to the Christmas Tree at Campus Martius for a picture and enjoyed a stop at HopCat for dinner.

We took a spooktacular field trip out to the St. Charles Area Museum to celebrate Halloween by learning history and snapping photos with all the animatronic displays. We finished our day with pizza and cookies. 🧌👹🤡🤖👽☠️🧙‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧞🍕🍪🎈

We'd like to extend a hearty "Thank You!" to Clubhouse International and their faculty, Michael Hamlin of Fountain House and Clubhouse Ohio, and Trent Anderson of Potential Place Society in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for their visit to Bayside Clubhouse this week. It was an honor hosting you both for our third accreditation. Your insight and expertise are greatly appreciated and good to see the great things happening at Bayside are validated.

Bayside's Saturday activity for October consisted of brunch, scary movies and arts and crafts! We had so much fun painting and making bracelets!

Last week's Employment and Education Dinner was an in-house activity at Bayside where we enjoyed Rally's cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches and French fries. We focused on being job ready and what materials members have and need to be ready for a job interview. The checklist helps members work on a plan with staff on updating resumes, designing cover letters and making sure they have their proper identification.
