The cold, windy weather limited our So Every Body Can Move display at the Limb Loss Awareness 5K in Kentwood on Saturday morning, but we still got a chance to meet several people who are very eager to help with our legislative effort.

A big shout out to all the participants who ran to help raise awareness for limb loss, especially those who did it on a prosthesis!

So EveryBODY Can Move is an incredible initiative many of YOU have helped Bremer Prosthetics support over the past two years through participation in our annual StepUp to 5k run.

Now you (patients, clinicians, and anyone else interested in advocacy) can learn more about what this initiative is and how to get involved!

So EveryBODY Can Move is a national initiative to improve access to fair insurance coverage, but it is an especially great time for all of us in Michigan to listen up and learn more as many folks on our team and across the state are currently doing great work on this here at home.

For amputees, learning to drive again is more than just a skill—it’s a gateway to independence. But the journey can feel overwhelming. That’s where support, encouragement, and the right tools make all the difference. 🌟

Here are some ways to build confidence on the road:
🔹 Adaptive Driving Technology: From hand controls and pedal modifications to steering wheel k***s and voice-activated systems.
🔹 Professional Training: Certified driving rehabilitation specialists (CDRS) provide tailored lessons to help amputees learn at their own pace with equipment suited to their needs.
🔹 Practice in Safe Spaces like an empty parking lot
🔹 Peer Support: Connect with others who’ve been through the same journey. Sharing experiences can inspire and provide valuable tips.
🔹 Encouragement and Patience: A supportive environment is key. Celebrate small wins and progress, no matter how big or small. You've got this!

In addition to tons of Crim swag and DISCOUNTS (!) PPP will be offering free chair massages, Normatech Boot trials, and an all-ages fitness competition area! Also on-site that day will be Squeeze The Day of Flushing, offering juice samples and juice for sale and Bremer Prosthetics promoting their services.
