This machine keeps my body going…
but my faith, my family, and my purpose keep my spirit alive.

Three days a week.
Hours at a time.
Connected to a machine just to do what healthy kidneys normally do.

This is the reality for thousands of people living with kidney failure.

But even through the treatments…
even through the pain…
even through the waiting for a transplant…

I’m Still Here.

Still fighting.
Still believing.
Still working to spread awareness about kidney disease and the importance of organ donation.

That’s why I created the SL2 Foundation — to educate, inspire, and hopefully save lives before it’s too late.

If my story reaches just one person…

If one life is saved…

💚DAY 1 — KIDNEY DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH 💚

Let’s stop scrolling for a second.

Kidney disease is killing people quietly.

1 in 7 adults has kidney disease.

90% don’t even know it.

Read that again.

Ninety percent.

And we’re still not talking about it enough.

Meanwhile, I’m sitting in dialysis chairs fighting to stay alive.

Scheduling my life around a machine. Watching my blood pressure drop. Canceling plans because my body won’t cooperate.

When I say “I want a kidney” — that’s not dramatic.

That’s survival.

I don’t want sympathy. I want awareness. I want prevention. I want conversations happening at dinner tables. I want people demanding kidney function tests at their next doctor visit.

Stop normalizing:
• Constant fatigue
• Swollen feet
• High blood pressure
• “I’ll go later”

Kidney disease doesn’t wait.

And in our community? It’s hitting hard.

This month I’m not being quiet. I’m not being subtle. I’m not softening the truth.

Get your labs done. Ask for a GFR test. Ask for a urine protein test. Have the organ donation conversation.

Because somebody you love could be next. And somebody like me is waiting on a second chance.

I’m still here.

But I’m fighting to LIVE.

And I won’t stop talking about it.
