Deputy Secretary Paul Lawrence Discusses EHR Modernization Progress with WGME CBS13
Deputy Secretary the Honorable Dr. Paul Lawrence recently spoke with a CBS news station in Maine to discuss VA’s Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort and respond to concerns raised by Maine Senator Angus King.
During the interview, Dr. Lawrence explained how VA is accelerating deployment while maintaining a renewed focus on ex*****on. He emphasized that the goal is clear: a modern, integrated health record that improves clinician workflows and delivers safer, more coordinated care for Veterans — no matter where they receive treatment.
Veterans deserve a system that follows them, reduces repetition, and supports better health outcomes, and VA is committed to delivering exactly that.
