On only her second day as the newest therapy dog at Covenant, she made a special visit to meet our team and patients for the first time. 🐶 🐾

Let’s just say… she stole every heart in the building. We are already counting down the days until her next visit! 🧡

In honor of American Heart Month, we are celebrating Dale from Bay City, MI. ❤️

Dale first came to Covenant HealthCare in January for a heart procedure to help correct an irregular heartbeat. Shortly after, he needed open heart surgery for an aortic valve replacement. He then began his rehabilitation journey at Mary Free Bed at Covenant HealthCare, focused and determined on his recovery. 🚶‍➡️

Since then, Dale showed incredible strength and a great sense of humor, often cracking jokes with his care team along the way. One thing he especially loved during therapy is playing Yahtzee, bringing a little friendly competition and fun into his sessions. 🎲

“I am satisfied with the progress we’ve made. The great part is you have access to all your doctors. You don’t get that other places. You guys are very qualified to handle post heart surgery rehab.”

Happy American Heart Month, Dale! We are honored to be part of your recovery journey. ⭐

We had a great time back in October at the Micareerquest middle michigan career fair at Saginaw Valley State University.

Today, we were excited to accept the “Most Engaging Exhibitor” award for our wheelchair race! ⭐

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with thousands of students, share hands-on experiences, and be part of an event that supports our community and future workforce here in the Great Lakes Bay region. 👩‍⚕️

Today, we celebrate a Very Mary Graduation ✨🎶

A lifetime Saginaw resident, Shay came to Mary Free Bed at Covenant after experiencing two seizures in late 2025. What began as part of his recovery quickly turned into something special for our entire unit.

For over a month, Shay has been our resident DJ, often posted up outside the charting station, sharing his wide range of music and lifting spirits throughout the unit. It didn’t take long for our staff to give him the nickname DJ Shay.🎧

“When I listen to music, it motivates me every single day. It keeps me positive, happy, and outgoing.”

Before his Very Mary Graduation, Shay shared a heartfelt message thanking our team for their encouragement, compassion, and belief in him throughout his journey. His story is a powerful reminder that healing is more than therapy, it’s connection, joy, and community.

Congratulations, DJ Shay! We’ll be dancing along with you wherever life takes you next. 💙🎶
