In November, La Posada residents Marge Sperling and Marilyn Kabat offered an impromptu sing-along to their neighbors in the La Perla neighborhood.

From timeless classics to feel-good favorites, the lobby was filled with harmonies, laughter, and that unmistakable spark you only get when people make music together.

Moments like these remind us that you don’t need a stage to feel like a star… just good friends, familiar melodies, and a place like La Posada that believes in the power of joy.

With deep patriotic respect and heartfelt gratitude, La Posada honored the more than 50 La Posada residents who gathered yesterday to share their military experiences and celebrate the accomplishments that have defined their past and present service.

This Veterans' Day breakfast gathering was a tribute to their unwavering dedication and the courage it takes to serve, reflecting on how today’s military carries on its legacy through ever-evolving missions.

A special thank you to La Posada Dining Services Director Bill Hintalla for providing an engaging presentation about your past Honor Guard duty with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment. Your words reminded us about the importance of serving Veterans long after they left duty.

Los Niños Preschool Trick-or-Treating and Employee Halloween Costumes at La Posada!

Nobody dressed as Lady Luck…but she must have been smiling somewhere in the shadows at La Joya’s Halloween Casino Night!

From card tables buzzing with laughter to a human-powered slot machine spitting out chocolate treasures, the afternoon was full of playful tricks and lucky treats. Residents tested their fortunes at the roulette wheel and the card tables, all in good spirits—and with plenty of friendly banter echoing through the room.

Those residents who hit $1,000 worth of chips entered the eerie raffle for two ghoulishly good goodie baskets, while the buffet tempted mortals and monsters alike with skewered chicken, meatless meatball eyes, bruschetta ghost bites, deviled eggs, and the creepy-cute “dirt dessert” pudding—complete with gummy worms wriggling in every bite!

In the end, it wasn’t just about luck—it was about laughter, camaraderie, and community. At La Posada, even the spirits know when to call it a winning afternoon.

La Posada’s Frightfully Fun Halloween Social!

Last Friday, our campus transformed into a cauldron of creativity as residents gathered for a spellbinding Halloween Social & Costume Contest!

From eerie laughter echoing down the halls to deliciously spooky treats haunting the buffet table, it was a night where imagination ran un-boo-lievably wild!

Residents feasted on mummy-wrapped hot dogs, bloody smoky ribs rising like ghosts from the grill, chocolate graveyard dessert shooters, spooky chocolate-covered strawberries decorated like little ghosts, berry cobbler bubbling like a witch’s potion, eyes-ome fudge brownies, vampire veggie platters, meat-and-cheese platters, and even vegan meatball eyes that stared right back at you — a devilishly clever dish that had everyone under its spell!

And when the sunset escaped for the night, the music started to howl, residents rocked the night away to live dance tunes by Tom Cat and The Prowlers — a howlingly good rock ’n’ roll band that had every ghoul and goblin grooving under the moonlight!

The costumes were just as spectacular as the tunes!

Third Place: Queen Grimhilde (Evil Queen from Snow White) – Nancy Scheffler

Most Creative Group: Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs – Kim Sula (Snow White) with Terry Sula, CeCe & Joe Gunton, Jo-Anne & David Kikel, Pam & Dick Duchaine

From fairy-tale villains to kitchen-themed comedy, every costume bewitched the crowd. Thank you to all our residents who joined the fun and proved that the spirit of Halloween is delightfully frightful here at La Posada.
