Everybody wants to alkalize these days!
Do you know that some parts need to be acidic?
Your stomach needs to be acidic in order to break down food and keep your digestion from stalling (that’s called Gut Motility).
Your saliva should be at 6.4-6.5 two hours after your first meal. This is an OPTIMAL acidic ph. (For any dental employees reading this, it has nothing to do with first morning ph but everything to do with how the body processes food). Anything higher than that and digestion slows down, causing fermentation and it may make its own acid which can cause it to come back through the esophagus and create reflux. A higher saliva ph creates a favorable environment for yeast overgrowth to occur in the body which may also cause leaky gut. When the saliva is higher, bacteria increases in the mouth.
If the saliva ph is lower than that, it can wear down your teeth, leeching the minerals.
Your urine ph should also be 6.4-6.5 two hours after your first meal. Anything higher can cause irritation on the bladder wall, and urethra, and once again it’s a favorable environment for yeast overgrowth and bacteria.
If urine ph is lower than 6.4-6.5, the elimination of nutrients, including very important minerals, speed through and out the body before there is opportunity to assimilate into the body (may cause nutrient deficiency).
