Congratulations to one of our pediatricians and partners at Monarch Maples, Dr. Stacy Strouse for earning her Diploma in Mountain Medicine!

Dr. Strouse earned this diploma through the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences hosted at the U.S Army Mountain Warfare School which was located at the Camp Ethan Allen training site in Jericho, VT.

Our very own Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Dana Barkley, has officially become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)! This achievement reflects a deep commitment to supporting infants, children, and families with evidence-based lactation care, compassion, and expertise.

With this dual certification, she will also collaborate closely with outpatient lactation consultants to provide seamless, wrap around care, ensuring families receive consistent support from hospital to home and beyond.

She is able to help with latch, positioning, oral tether tie evaluation, and monitoring of weight gain. From newborn feeding challenges to empowering parents with confidence and education, this expanded role strengthens family-centered care and continuity every step of the way.
