On Friday, Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care, Inc. posted a story about our efforts to reduce blood culture contamination. As noted in their story, by standardizing blood culture collection and strengthening staff training, we were able to cut contamination rates from 4% to below 1%, hitting the national benchmark.
