As massage therapists, we often share stories, laugh at funny experiences, and support one another through our professional journeys. Today, a question popped up in a massage forum: “What was your most embarrassing moment as a therapist?” Reading the responses made me laugh and reflect on my own time in this wonderful profession.
In my 8.5 years as a massage therapist, I’ve had the joy of experiencing it all—uplifting conversations, peaceful silence, moments of laughter, and deep, meaningful connections. I’ve been honored to meet so many incredible people—some only once, others many times over. Every single session has been a gift, and I am truly grateful.
After careful thought, and weighing the many pros and cons of running a business, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to close Water Lilly Massage.
This choice was not made lightly. I’ve cherished every appointment, every conversation, and every story shared—about your lives, children, pets, struggles, triumphs, weddings, births, and so much more. These moments reminded me of our shared humanity and how important it is to truly see and care for one another.
As I prepare to close this chapter, I’ll continue seeing clients at my beautiful location in Georgia until the end of September. If you have a gift card or would like to schedule one last appointment, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart—for your trust, your stories, and your kindness. I’ve learned so much from each of you, and I hope I’ve helped in some small way.
At the end of the day, we’re all navigating something. Be kind to each other.
With gratitude,
Nancy
