This weekend we attended an EMS training put on by Idaho State University and Portneuf Hospital.

Julie Bacon is an active participant in Florida state disaster planning and management, a former Hospital Emergency management director, the clinical chair for the EMS strategic planning committee, as well as a program manager and chief flight nurse for John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

Julie flew in to give a very informative and educational training on airway management, and with her… brought a few sets of lungs! 🫁

Despite these being pig lungs, NOT human lungs, the process is still the same and we were able to practice life saving ventilation skills and see in real time, the affect is has on a patient and their airway.

Watch the video until the end, to see what lungs look like fully inflated…

❄️ With all of this new snow, we wanted to throw out a quick Snowmobile Safety Reminder ❄️

Befor heading out to play, please remember…

🚨Trees are dangerous and jump out in front of you!!! ( it’s more common than you think)🚨

🚑 Wear a DOT-approved helmet and protective gear.
🚑 Ride with a partner — never alone.
🚑 Let someone know your route and expected return time.
🚑 Check local weather and avalanche forecasts.
🚑 Avoid steep or wind-loaded slopes after heavy snowfall.
🚑 Carry emergency supplies, including avalanche safety equipment in backcountry areas. ( know how to use it)
🚑 Carry a Garmin or a similar GPS navigation device.
🚑 And lastly, (we hate that we even have to say this) Never operate a snowmobile under the influence.

If you encounter an emergency, call 911 immediately, it takes TIME to get our snow machines, med sled, and crews to your location, and a chopper ride isn’t always an option.

Stay safe. Ride smart. ❄️

Congratulations‼️‼️

We wanted to give a huge shout out to Jinny Miller and Tristen Lott for the completion of the NMETC Paramedic Program and for receiving their NREMT Paramedic licensing 🙌

Jinny and Tristen are both locals here in Fremont County, and have been working with the Ambulance service as EMT’s since 2023

Having them as Paramedics will be a huge asset to both the Ambulance Service, as well as to all Fremont county residents. 🚑

Thank you Jinny and Tristen for all that you do. We appreciate your time and devotion to all of our medical emergencies and have so much gratitude for your willingness to always put your patients first. ❤️‍🩹
