Today we kicked off Assisted Living Week AND Spirit Week in style!

We started with Decades & Donuts 🍩—staff and residents dressed up in their favorite eras, from groovy 60s looks to totally rad 80s vibes, all while enjoying a tasty treat to fuel the fun.

But beyond the costumes and sprinkles, this week is about something deeper—celebrating the incredible residents we serve and recognizing the dedicated team members who give their all, year-round. Their compassion, creativity, and hard work make every day brighter in our community, and Assisted Living Week is the perfect time to honor that.

The laughter, costumes, and smiles today remind us why this week matters—and we’re just getting started! Tomorrow is Team Spirit Day—so grab your jerseys, colors, and pom-poms because we’re ready to cheer each other on!

Lillian, Jim, and Sherry had an adventure-filled lunch at Gators Dockside! The burgers? Absolutely delicious … but the real excitement came when we realized we had a rather large lunch companion! 🐊 Sherry, watch your back—Lillian is convinced this big gator has been eyeing her the entire meal!

🐝We celebrated National Honey Bee Day with a buzzworthy presentation from local conservationists, beekeepers, and our wonderful resident family members Carole & Mike! They shared their passion for protecting pollinators, along with some incredible facts about the honey bee.

Did you know…
🍯 Honey never spoils—jars found in ancient Egyptian tombs are still perfectly edible!

Of course, no bee celebration would be complete without a sweet honey tasting—and Carole & Mike shared samples straight from their own harvest. What a treat!

Caught you, Jack! He’s at it again—this time tending to our beautiful community garden 🌼. As a former landscaping expert, Jack’s green thumb is no joke… and believe it or not, he grew these beauties from Dollar Store seeds! Way to go, Jack!

Beyond just pretty flowers and fresh veggies, gardening here gives Jack something even more important—a sense of purpose and pride. For seniors, taking on meaningful roles like this helps maintain identity, boosts self-esteem, and strengthens connections with others. 🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, mateys! What an amazing morning we had! Mike and Dom set sail (well… drove) to the St. Augustine Pirate Museum in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida . They braved the high seas of history with a boom 💥 during a live cannon demonstration, marveled at real pirate artifacts, and checked out enough swords, pistols, and cutlasses to make Captain Jack jealous!

Pirate joke of the day: How much did the pirate pay for his piercings?
A buck-an-ear!

Fun fact: The infamous pirate Blackbeard reportedly had 14 wives at the time of his death… Mike and Dom agree that’s at least 13 too many!
