FAFCC DAY at the Capitol February 18, 2026

Last week, our executive director Michelle and I attended the FAFCC meeting at the Capitol, where we spent the day sharing essential information to support the upcoming budgets and necessities for the Wildflower Clinic.

As we walked through the Capitol, we enjoyed connecting with both new and longtime nonprofit organizations across Florida. The collaboration and passion we witnessed were inspiring , and we are excited to work together on new ideas to better serve our undeserved communities, especially dental, medical and soon to be nutrition.

Grateful for this opportunity and motivated for what's ahead!

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJCSO) utilizes the SJSO Re-Entry Center in partnership with Operation New Hope and local social services to help inmates find jobs and shelter upon release. The primary program, known as Ready4Work, provides training, job placement, and housing assistance to individuals prior to their release from the St. Johns County Jail.

We here at Wildflower are proud to join these events to also inform inmates they will have free healthcare and dental services as well when released. This program has significantly reduced inmates returning to detention center, due to having the resources they need to gain employment, shelter and recovery they need to be a part of the community once again, and on a straight path to success. Here's some of the fun we experienced with the Deputies. Their support is sometimes left unheard and unseen.

There will be a cold night shelter open on Tuesday, February 24nd, for St. Johns County.

The location is the Grace United Methodist Church, also known as the red door church.
The address is 8 Carrera Street in downtown St. Augustine.

Doors will open at 8:30pm.
