I came across this video and felt called to share it as a gentle reminder: love comes in many forms.

So often, people feel misunderstood in their relationships. Their intentions are there, but their partner may not know how to translate the way love is being expressed. That doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a lack of love, sometimes it’s simply a lack of understanding.

I encourage you to try to see your partner’s efforts before their flaws. Notice their moments of grace. Pay attention to how they show up for you, even if it looks different than you expected.

If someone struggles to express emotion verbally, it doesn’t mean they’re broken. It may simply mean they learned to communicate the same love we all feel, just through a different lens.

The human experience includes stress, doubt, setbacks, and uncertainty, but many teens and young adults believe these mean they’re failing. Over time, that belief can contribute to anxiety and depression.

Expanding how we define success can create space for self-compassion, resilience, and emotional well-being.

We all want our kids to be happy, but when happiness becomes the goal, it can leave both parents and kids feeling like failures. The human experience isn’t happy all the time, and kids don’t need us to fix or erase uncomfortable emotions.

What they do need is to feel safe, loved, and connected, especially in moments when they’re dysregulated. Our ability to stay grounded and present helps their nervous system settle and teaches them that all emotions are manageable and safe.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share the next video in this series on helping kids learn to regulate their emotions and supporting you as parents in guiding them through that process without everyone losing control in the moment.

In this video, we’re starting with the very first step: helping your child build awareness around their emotions and learning how to put those feelings into words.

There’s a lot more to come, but we’re taking it one step at a time.
I’ve also linked below the two tools I mention in the video, the Feelings Wheel (great for adults, older children and teens) and the 😊 Feelings Chart (perfect for younger kids) along with the two books I reference.

Hope you all have a great day, and I can’t wait to keep diving deeper into this topic with you!

Parenting isn’t easy, especially when our kids are emotionally dysregulated and struggling to calm down. In this video, I share the starting point on ways you can support your child in those tough moments and help them learn to regulate so you all can move on with your day and feel more supported and connected.

This is the first of a few videos I’ll be sharing on the topic, and I’m also hoping to plan a workshop soon (either online or in person) to go deeper into the practical how-tos. If that sounds helpful, please let me know so I can make sure to bring you guys the information you need.

I’d also love to hear from you. What’s been most challenging (or helpful!) for you when your child is having a hard time regulating or maybe even you are during those moments? Share in the comments below so we can support one another. It truly takes a village.

Does it ever feel impossible to get your partner to open up? In this video, I share a Gottman Method tool called the Stress-Reducing Conversation, a way to connect, feel heard, and support each other without talking about the relationship itself.

CALLING ALL SUPERHEROS, grades Kindergarten through 5th!

I am thrilled to introduce the very first session of our new Calm & Coping Anxiety Workshop series - Anxiety Superhero Training Camp!

This 4-part series is designed to support every stage of life, from elementary school to middle school, high school, and adulthood, by giving each age group the tools to manage anxiety with confidence.

Our first workshop focuses on elementary-aged kids who struggle with anxiety and overwhelm, helping them understand anxiety, teaching tools to fight worries, and offering parents their own guides and training camp to help support their heroes. Superheroes will leave camp with an awesome cape and a toolbox to use when they are ready to fight the worries!

Don’t miss this chance for your child to gain superpowers against anxiety while you learn alongside them. Tickets are $50 for each child and parent team, with $25 for each additional child/hero. Spots are limited, so reserve your cape today at the link below.

Hey everyone. I know a lot of us struggle with anxiety, and today I want to share a quick tip that can help shift the way you look at things just a bit. Sometimes all it takes is a small mindset change to feel a little more grounded and in control. I hope you find it useful and have an awesome weekend!

With school just around the corner, I know many kids (and parents) are feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. I didn’t film this video, but I felt it was too valuable not to share.

It’s about something called co-regulation, think of it as giving your child “training wheels” for managing big feelings before they’ve developed the skills to do it on their own.

By practicing this now, you’re helping reduce overwhelm and anxiety for both you and your child, not just for the first day of school, but all year round. Wishing you and your family a smooth, supported start to the school year!

Ever had someone minimize your pain by saying, "It’s not that bad"? Or have you ever felt like someone around you makes too big a deal out of the small stuff?

In this short video, I explain why emotional validation matters, using what I call the Paper Cut Analogy.
