One Step at a Time: Healing Your Pelvic Floor Journey ⬇️Deep thoughts on this lovely artwork from Ikea... Seriously, I picked this picture to hang in my office because it does give you a visceral feeling looking at it. I do think it represents how we feel sometimes - we are going into unknown territory; looking at this bridge may make your pelvic floor clench up a little bit. Feeling better is one step at a time, one treatment at a time and you are not doing it alone. Trusting this process will work will get you to the other side!

🚫 Not all Kegels are created equal! 🚫Most people are taught to “just squeeze”... but without proper breathing, you might be doing more harm than good. Here’s the secret 👇✅ Inhale, relax.✅ Exhale, then contract + lift.Your pelvic floor works with your breath, not against it. 🌬✨Want to make sure you’re strengthening the right way? That’s where pelvic floor therapy comes in—I’ll guide you every step of the way. 💜

The more we normalize these muscles and treat them like any other part of the body, the better. Just like your shoulders or hips, your pelvic floor deserves care, attention, and support.

This NPR feature explains it beautifully, your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support your bladder, bowels, and reproductive organs, and affect everything from posture to daily comfort. The author breaks it down in a way that’s so accessible and empowering… and it aligns perfectly with how I treat my patients. 🩵

10–15 years ago, finding help for pelvic floor issues was far more difficult. Now? Articles, podcasts, and even TV shows are bringing this conversation into the open, making resources and therapy so much more accessible.

Let’s keep the conversation going. 💬 Do you power p*e? Haha, you don’t have to answer that, but I want you to think about it.

These are just some of the victories my patients share with me and honestly, they make my whole day. 🩷Pelvic floor therapy is about so much more than muscles. It’s about freedom, comfort, and confidence in your body again. If you’re dealing with leaks, pelvic pain, or bathroom trips ruling your life… you don’t have to live that way. There’s help — and it works.📅 Ready to start your journey? Let’s chat.

💥 Pain isn’t a badge of honor — it’s a signal to pause and prioritize YOU. 💥

Women wear so many hats, but pain should not be one of them. I’m guilty of pushing through too — because taking time for ourselves often feels like a luxury. But whether it’s back pain, discomfort with intimacy, trouble exercising, or simply not being able to sit at your desk comfortably… you don’t have to live this way.

The truth is, relief might be closer than you think. A few appointments can go a long way — and you deserve that time. Let’s stop normalizing discomfort and start normalizing healing. 💛

These are the real reasons women walk through my door each week. And no, it’s not “just part of being a mom.”

Persistent pain, prolapse, incontinence, core weakness, these are signals, not life sentences.

Whether you’re months or years postpartum… pregnant and planning ahead… or trying to avoid surgery—there are conservative, evidence-based ways to support your healing.

✨ Pelvic floor therapy isn’t just for recovery—it’s for reclaiming strength, confidence, and comfort in your own body.

DM me if your body’s been asking for help. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Your pelvic floor has opinions… are you listening?👂
Spoiler alert: that nagging lower back ache? It might not just be from poor posture or overdoing it at the gym. Your pelvic floor could be throwing a full-on tantrum. 😤 Here are a few ways your pelvic floor could have something to do with lower back pain:

👉 Weakened pelvic floor muscles can set off a domino effect of compensation from other areas that overwork or become too tight.

👉 Pelvic floor muscles that are too tense can create a lot of tension in the tailbone, sacrum, and all the way making it difficult for your body to use it’s core correctly and over stress your back.

👉 The pelvic floor, hip, lower back and abdominal muscles are all an intricate puzzle that need to be firing at the correct time, all balanced and equally strong. When any piece of this goes wrong, it can mean pain in any of these areas!

💥 When you can assess the pelvic floor and it’s relationship to the other muscle groups it allows us to take a deeper dive into chronic pain and sometimes that missing piece hasn’t been addressed!

Our bodies talk—sometimes in whispers, sometimes in full-blown aches and pains. The real question is: are you tuning in?

👉 Drop a 🙋‍♀️ if your body’s been trying to tell you something lately. Let’s talk about it, your symptoms are never “just in your head.”

✨Forget the weather, this is my version of casual conversation 😄
Because when it comes to pelvic health, these ‘weird’ questions are actually really important.

Awkward? Maybe.
Helpful? Absolutely.
Judgment? Never.

👀 It might sound like TMI, but these are actually really important questions when it comes to understanding how your pelvic floor is functioning.

If no one’s asked you these before… consider this your sign to book with someone who does. Your pelvic health matters. ✨

🚨 Pelvic floor check-in… Are you ignoring these red flags?

Here are 5 signs it might be time to book pelvic floor therapy:
1️⃣ You skip workouts because of bladder leaks or urgency.
2️⃣ You dread the bathroom—straining or taking forever to go.
3️⃣ Biking is off the table because of pain in your SITS bones.
4️⃣ You race home and can’t stop until you hit the bathroom.
5️⃣ Intimacy feels painful or just not enjoyable.

🙅‍♀️ These symptoms are common, but they’re NOT normal.
You don’t have to suffer in silence or settle for discomfort.

💬 Your pelvic floor is speaking—are you ready to listen?
