✨Forget the weather, this is my version of casual conversation 😄
Because when it comes to pelvic health, these ‘weird’ questions are actually really important.

Awkward? Maybe.
Helpful? Absolutely.
Judgment? Never.

👀 It might sound like TMI, but these are actually really important questions when it comes to understanding how your pelvic floor is functioning.

If no one’s asked you these before… consider this your sign to book with someone who does. Your pelvic health matters. ✨

🚨 Pelvic floor check-in… Are you ignoring these red flags?

Here are 5 signs it might be time to book pelvic floor therapy:
1️⃣ You skip workouts because of bladder leaks or urgency.
2️⃣ You dread the bathroom—straining or taking forever to go.
3️⃣ Biking is off the table because of pain in your SITS bones.
4️⃣ You race home and can’t stop until you hit the bathroom.
5️⃣ Intimacy feels painful or just not enjoyable.

🙅‍♀️ These symptoms are common, but they’re NOT normal.
You don’t have to suffer in silence or settle for discomfort.

💬 Your pelvic floor is speaking—are you ready to listen?

✨Postpartum Isn’t About Bouncing Back, It’s About Becoming✨

You’re not meant to rush back to who you were, you’re meant to gently grow into who you’re becoming.

I work with new moms to be open to the idea of not having timelines. Goals are great- timelines don't always work out when you suddenly have lost control of your schedule and your life!

GIVE YOURSELF GRACE. I say this all the time to my patients, and at 46 I am only beginning to give myself an adequate amount. We can be so hard on the way we look, we need to focus on the way we feel. If we feel good and love ourselves, we can accept that our bodies may not be exactly as they were before pregnancies. They may get there eventually, or they may not. Regardless you can feel good, you can function without pain or bladder issues, and you can be the best version of yourself!

🤍 You don’t have to do this alone.

❌ You’re Holding Your Baby Carrier Wrong

✅ In the second video, watch how she slyly wraps her arm around the handle and brings the carrier closer to her body.
Why does that matter?
✨ It’s PHYSICS! ✨
The closer you carry something to your center, the more your core and pelvic floor can do their job, naturally and effectively.

This means:
✅ Less strain on your neck and shoulders
✅ More support from your deep core
✅ No more walking around feeling like you’ve wrestled a car seat

So next time you’re hauling that carrier, bring it in close. Your body will thank you!

😊 Give it a try, let us know what you think!

Your pelvic floor is like a trampoline…

💪 Strong is great… but can you relax 😎?

🔥 Hot take: a tight pelvic floor isn’t necessarily a strong one!
Learning to release is just as important as learning to engage.

👉 If you’re dealing with tension, discomfort, or just not feeling your best—your pelvic floor might be the missing piece.

Here’s my life lately as a Mom & Pelvic Floor Therapist! How has your life been lately? Is June almost over already?? For me, June means balancing kids home from school and working, baseball, kids’ appointments, baseball, prioritizing exercising, baseball, nagging kids to do chores, and did I say baseball???? ⚾️🧢

🤓 Recently I geeked out with 20 hours of education from the institute of birth healing and really took away some new perspective about diastases. I am going to start recommending doing
✅ NOTHING those first 6 weeks postpartum for your abdomen.
✅ Breathing- yes.
✅ Kegels - yes.
✅ Movement and mobility - yes.
❌ But, any specific abdominal strengthening- no.

I really gained some insight that those first 6 weeks our body is laying down collagen to heal the connective tissue (linea alba) of our abdominal wall. It was equated to if a bone is set in a good place, you don’t try to do anything for those 6 weeks while it heals. You let it lay down new bone and heal. Maybe we should be doing the same for the linea alba during this healing time!

👉 Bonus Tip: KT tape is a great option to use over scars to flatten, increase mobility, increase circulation to the scar and decrease tension. It’s a simple way to help and you don’t need a second person to apply the tape!

🤔 Can you pick out the lie? There is so much we can all learn about the pelvic floor, despite our age and season of life. But for those of you that have had children, or planning to- the lie is that pelvic floor muscles don’t gain the same strength after childbirth (C)! Yes they can! Our bodies are amazing what they go through and how much distortion and stretch happens to carry and delivery a baby. However, it is completely possible to gain the same strength you had before and do all the same activities! You just need the knowledge!

Please DM me if you are interested in learning more about my services.

😮 Wow! This month marks 5 years since I went out on my own and started Empower Women's Health & Wellness. 🎉 And this month I found out I received two "One of the Best" awards for Kane County! One for Physical Therapy and one for Women's Health Center.

🤍 My goal in starting this business was to give compassionate care and make women and men feel safe when they see me for pelvic floor therapy. Although pelvic floor therapy has been my jam for a really long time, it is starting to creep out into the world and gain more traction for being a standard of care for many pelvic issues. The need will only grow for physical therapists to provide this unique service that is beneficial to so many women. And word is spreading in Kane County- thank you!!!!!!
