Check out our newest Blog Post "What Can We Do? Systemic Traumas and Their Impacts".

This blog explains that trauma is not only caused by single events but can also result from ongoing systemic harms inflicted by institutions, social narratives, and chronic oppression. It highlights how systemic traumas—such as the COVID-19 pandemic, workplace harassment, racism, sexism, and homophobia—compound over time and can produce psychological and physical symptoms similar to acute trauma. The article emphasizes that these harms are often difficult to name and may lead to feelings of betrayal, hypervigilance, distrust, and embodied stress responses. It concludes by offering strategies to build resilience, including recognizing systemic causes, clarifying control, staying empowered through action, seeking collective support, and prioritizing sustainable self-care.

Check out our newest Blog Post "Holding Your Boundaries During the Holidays: Staying Grounded When Emotions Run High".

The holidays can bring emotional challenges, making boundaries an essential tool for staying grounded and protecting your well-being. Clear limits—paired with follow-through—help you honor your values even when others misunderstand, pressure you, or resist your choices. When holiday expectations don’t match reality, boundaries allow you to stay present, compassionate with yourself, and connected to what matters most. Ultimately, you’re allowed to choose yourself, protect your peace, and create meaningful moments without needing anyone’s approval.

We are deeply honored to have participated in the Out of the Darkness DeKalb County Walk this past weekend — a powerful and meaningful event dedicated to raising awareness and honoring lives lost to su***de.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and the timing of this walk underscores how vital it is to come together as a community — to support one another, offer hope, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.

This cause is close to our hearts. As mental health professionals, we believe in the importance of connection, compassion, and offering help before someone reaches crisis. We’re immensely grateful to the organizers, volunteers, fundraisers, and participants who made the walk possible.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please remember — you are not alone. There is help:

- In a crisis: Call 988, the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline

- Text TALK to 741-741 for the Crisis Text Line

- Reach out to a trusted mental health provider or friend

Let’s continue to walk together—in advocacy, in compassion, and in solidarity.

Ready to take the first step? You’re not alone. We’re here when you’re ready.
