As an elite athlete it can be frustrating that medical providers do not understand the demands of your sport. And that "taking a break" isn't always possible.
Seeing a specialist that understands your sports can make the recovery process less stressful and more successful for you.
Our team understands dancers from the perspective of a dancer, a dance instructor and knowledgeable physical therapist.

Single Leg Overhead Circles is our exercise of the week!
This exercise targets the core, hips, and shoulders. It’s a dynamic movement that challenges stability, balance, and coordination! Here’s some tips to remember when doing this exercise!
1. Focus on maintaining your balance and stability throughout the exercise.
2. Keep your movements controlled and avoid swinging your arms or using momentum to perform the circles.
3. Engage your core muscles throughout the exercise to help stabilize your body.
You were made to move!💪

For a PT, it’s not just about addressing injuries; it’s about designing an exercise that enhances performance and keeps the athlete in top shape. This is where the T-agility drill with Neurocognitive Blaze Pods comes in.

Megan Long had the pleasure of being the guest presenter this past Monday at the Dick Pond's Wellness Seminar Series. Megan discussed with runners the benefits and importance of strength training as a runner. Strength training helps with injury prevention, running form and efficiency and speeds recovery time. The runners in attendance had the chance to try out different exercises ideal for the runner. Thank you Dick Pond Athletics

You can expect that at each session, your goals and needs are going to be addressed. Smith Running Academy believes runners can be smarter by learning proper form to improve technique. We also believe our CrossFit athletes, as well as our runners, should learn and understand movement patterns to assist in improved performance, mechanics, and speed. Most of all, we feel proper technique and mechanics can reduce your risk of injuries. With the use of video analysis, drills, strengthening exercises, accessory work, and mobility/flexibility instructions, athletes can compete in their next race, competition, training distance, and or WOD, with improved confidence for better results.
