Today, we honor the lives lost on 9/11 and the heroes who inspired a nation. As dancers, we know the strength found in movement and the healing that comes through expression. Let’s take a moment to reflect, remember, and move with purpose.

Together, we rise. Together, we remember.

💃Attention Dancers! Feeling tight in the hips before starting class? Instead of trying to “pop” your hips, try this dynamic warm-up!

👯‍♀️Start by sitting in a comfortable 90-90 sitting position.
💃Next, without using your hands pull yourself up to kneeling with your front leg turned out. Gently lean forward into lunge till a stretch is felt.
👯‍♀️Repeat on both legs
💃Listen to your body, one leg will probably feel looser than the other and that's ok!

With Broadway not opening back up until at least 2021, theater performers haven’t been able to do what they love. But, some have still found a way to do it off-stage! We are excited to annouce our newest Patient Experience Coordinator, Maliyah! She will be working primarily at the St. Charles Clinic.

Maliyah began her PT journey at 15 years old through a high school internship. She was also a soccer player and has had her fair share of sprains, strains, sprints, shin splints and ligament tears.
In her free time, she enjoys going to car meets, visiting her baby brother (has non-verbal autism), and you might catch her at any event that involves music, dancing or karaoke.
🖲She was born and raised in Elgin
🎱She is super good at pool
🍔She loves to eat but is also super picky

Welcome Maliyah!

Well...this is great news!
"All exercise is effective at treating depression, but a new study shows that DANCE is best..."
Just one more reason why we love the sport of dance and everything that goes with it.

All exercise is effective at treating depression, but a new study shows that dance is best, and it may not be particularly close.

Happy National Ballet Day!
Today we celebrate the hard work and dedication of ballet dancers.

Ballet Dancers have the job of making the dance look effortless and beautiful. This is no small task for the amount strength, endurance, flexibility and concentration that goes into every movement.

We appreciate all of their hard work and effort and thank them for giving us a chance to escape into the beauty of their sport.

Dance competitions can be physically and mentally demanding, but with the right preparation, you can make the most of your experience. Here are some tips to help you survive long competition days!
1. Be sure to warm up after every long break including stretching and quick movements to get the spring back in your feet. Mark through your dances physically and mentally.
2. Stay hydrated! Be sure to drink water throughout the day and not all at one time to avoid a feeling of fullness. Avoid excessive amounts of sugary and caffeinated drinks. This may give you quick rush of energy, but may also cause you to lose focus and cause feelings of anxiety.
3. Make healthy food choices! Eat protein filled snacks such as nuts, protein bars and yogurt. Healthy carbs such as rice bowls or pasta. Fruits and vegetables will always be your friend on competition/rehearsal days!

Good luck this competition season, and stay healthy!🪩🩰
