Traditionally, stellate ganglion blocks benefit conditions that affect the upper body, including:

🔹 Chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
🔹 Postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain from shingles infection)
🔹 Excess sweating in the head, arms, or hands
🔹 Radiating angina (chest pain)

The injection eases these pain conditions by blocking the pain signals or the functions of the stellate ganglion causing the pain, like blood vessel spasms.

Researchers now are finding that the stellate ganglion block benefits people with PTSD, a mental health condition that occurs after a traumatic or life-threatening event.

For those suffering with PTSD, researchers theorize that the sympathetic nerve injection may block the fight-or-flight response, easing their symptoms. The stellate ganglion block for PTSD, however, works best when combined with therapy and other treatments.

If you or someone you know could benefit for stellate ganglion block therapy, please email us at info@strivemdwellness.com.

There has been a marked increase in the amount of studies showing the use of ketamine in the treatment of mood disorders. The strongest data supporting ketamine’s clinical benefit in psychiatric disorders are in the treatment of major depressive episodes without psychotic features.

There are guidelines for the use of ketamine in acute and chronic pain written by academic anesthesiologists, which is a major reason why anesthesiologists should be involved in patients undergoing administration of ketamine.

Intravenous ketamine infusions are a viable option for major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and for patients who have had a history of suicidal thoughts. A series of six infusions for forty to sixty minutes over a 2-3 week period is what has been traditionally used, and at StrIVeMD Wellness and Ketamine, we stress to our patients not to change their antidepressant regimen unless instructed to do so by their psychiatrist or prescriber.

We have observed that patients who have started with ketamine infusions feel like they need less antidepressants by the end of the treatment series. In fact, most of our patients have reported being on less antidepressants at follow up after their six infusions.

If you are in the Chicagoland or Greater Cincinnati area and have a diagnosis of depression or PTSD, book a preliminary consultation for a ketamine intravenous infusion!

Research suggests that ketamine's ability to reshape and rebalance your brain means that this incredible drug does more than simply soothe the symptoms of depression. It may actually be able to reverse the underlying cause of depression to some extent.
As ketamine enhances your brain's communication via synaptogenesis, it also has a significant anti-inflammatory effect – ramping down your immune response and decreasing inflammation in your brain and throughout your body.
This decrease in inflammation has a ripple effect throughout your body, re-regulating important hormones and neurotransmitters that play a pivotal role in regulating your brain function and emotions.
Our cutting-edge clinic is dedicated to helping you feel your best, and reaching your full potential – but with the understanding that you’ll need support as you navigate such a huge change
