💯The answer is: CARDIO… with some strength training, too!

🏃Cardio (aka “aerobics”) boosts circulation, which helps lower your blood pressure and your heart rate.

It also reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes and helps you control your blood sugar levels.

▶️ Examples: Brisk walking, swimming, cycling, running, using cardio machines, etc.

🏋️Strength training helps reduce body fat and build muscle, which is good for metabolic health.

A combo of cardio and strength workouts may also help raise HDL (good) cholesterol and lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.

▶️ Examples: Working out with free weights, weight machines, or resistance bands or doing bodyweight exercises like push-ups and squats.

💖 February Celebrates Heart Health 💖

Your heart works tirelessly every moment of your life —

And it deserves some extra love and care.

You've likely heard that heart disease stands as the top cause of death worldwide… and our lifestyle choices can significantly impact our vulnerability.

Consider this: Almost half of all Americans — a whopping 47% — possess at least one of three major risk factors for heart disease: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking!!!!

Several factors contribute to heart disease:

Consuming excessive unhealthy fats
Overindulging in fake sodium
Lack of physical activity
Excessive alcohol consumption
Smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke

I've got a wealth of heart health wisdom to share this month… but to kick things off:

1️⃣ Opt for heart-healthy fats such as olive or avocado oil
2️⃣ Keep a close watch on your sodium intake (suggestion: limit to 1 tsp or 2,300 mg/day)
3️⃣ Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise on five days each week
4️⃣ Monitor your alcohol intake and steer clear of smoking

Remember: It's not just about avoiding risks; it's about crafting a healthier, more vibrant life for yourself!
