Happy Birthday, Amy!

Amy brings such grounded energy, compassion, and steady leadership to our Restore community. The way she holds space in her classes allows everyone to feel both supported and empowered. Her presence is calming, her cueing is intentional, and her light is undeniable.

Yoga doesn’t just change how your body feels, it changes your brain chemistry.

Research shows that consistent yoga practice can reduce cortisol levels, your primary stress hormone, while increasing activity of GABA, a neurotransmitter responsible for calming the nervous system.

Low GABA levels are associated with anxiety, mood instability, and heightened stress responses. Higher GABA activity promotes feelings of steadiness, clarity, and emotional regulation.

That calm, grounded feeling you notice after class?
That’s neurochemistry.

Intentional breathing, mindful movement, and present moment awareness create measurable shifts in brain function. Studies using brain imaging have shown increased activity in areas responsible for emotional regulation and decreased activation in stress reactive centers like the amygdala.
