Most couples don’t need more advice. They need help noticing what’s already there.

Stress has a way of training our brains to scan for what’s wrong (tone, missteps, old wounds) until we stop seeing the good right in front of us.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re offering a free couples practice we use in therapy to help partners reconnect and feel more emotionally safe.

No pressure. No fixing. Just a meaningful way to be intentional together.

👉 Comment “Valentine” or send us a DM, and we’ll send it to you.

Meet Alex Marquez, one of our Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns 👋🏽

Alex works with neurodivergent teens and young adults navigating life, academic or career transitions, as well as first responders and individuals in substance abuse recovery.

Many people carry stress quietly … especially those others rely on. Over time, always being the steady one can lead to burnout and feeling like you have to handle everything alone.

Alex offers a grounded, judgment-free space for people who don’t always feel like they’re allowed to struggle. Support isn’t about losing strength — it’s about not having to carry it all by yourself.

Human dignity lives in how we choose to see one another. Creative altruism means recognizing the humanity in others, even when it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, or asks more of us.

Our mental health is shaped by these choices: when people are treated with care, respect, and compassion, healing becomes possible.

On this MLK Day, may we choose actions that protect dignity, our own and each other’s.

✨ Therapist Spotlight: Mariely Fernandez ✨

Meet Mariely! She walks alongside patients as they rediscover their strength, clarity, and calm. She believes healing begins in those quiet, brave moments when we realize something needs to change—and that inner wisdom is already present, even when life feels overwhelming.

She views each patient as a whole person, honoring mind, body, emotions, and lived experience. Mariely creates a grounded, compassionate space where patients can breathe easier, feel safe being honest, and move toward growth at their own pace. Her approach integrates mindfulness, grounding breathwork, cognitive strategies, and mind–body techniques, always tailored to what feels natural and supportive.

At the heart of her work is a core belief: you are the expert of your own life. Mariely’s role is to walk beside you as you build resilience, break old patterns, and create a life that feels balanced and authentically yours.

• Bilingual: English & Spanish

The new year isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about remembering who you’ve always been beneath the pain, fear, and survival.

Our Clinical Director, Claudette Gonzalez, writes an amazing piece about how we can turn pain into insight, survival into strength, and fear into freedom.

This new year, choose healing, self-trust, and the courage to show up as your true self. ✨
