News I never wanted to share:
Shifting Focus will be closing on August 1, 2024 and I will not be moving to the new clinic as planned on July 1, 2024. There were some contractual changes in June that were not sustainable for me professionally.
As a result, I will not be able to continue with the patients that were set to follow me.
*I will not be able to bill insurance starting July 1st, as my contracts were set to end on that date.
*Patients scheduled in July will be cash-pay (rates have been reduced by 40% in July).
*Letters and portal messages were sent to patients with referral options and directions on how to obtain records after 8/1/24.

Know that it has been a gift to walk this journey with all of you and I will help with the transition in any way I can.

Psychiatry Done Differently

After spending nearly a decade in children’s mental health, I decided it was time to change lanes. Shifting Focus was created to offer a more personalized approach in treating the emotional and behavioral challenges that children and adolescents may face. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, and trauma. While these are areas of interest, I am comfortable and proficient with treating all psychiatric disorders . It is important to note that not all patients will require medication interventions and there are instances where therapy approaches may be more beneficial.
