irth interventions including: 50% decrease in Cesarean births, 60% decrease in epidurals, 40% decrease in the use of Pitocin, 30% decrease in the use of narcotics, 30% decrease in the use of forceps, and overall, a 25% decrease in the length of labor. A doula provides non-medical comfort and support in labor and birth, but does not overshadow the father's role. Studies show that fathers participate more actively during labor in the presence of a doula than without one. Everyone deserves a doula, so please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss fees.
