Orlando Lamaze

Orlando Lamaze Learn to guide your baby and family through the extraordinary journey of pregnancy, birth! Phone. 716-597-9340 My name is Erin and I'm a mother of eight.

My passion is to Educate parents on their choices in birth. Whether it's your first or your fourth, come and learn the six care practices of Lamaze. Comfort measures on and off the birth Ball, Rebozo techniques writing your Birth Plan Breastfeeding and much more we meet on Thursday from 6:30-8:45

I am a doula certified through (DONA) . Research shows that hiring a doula significantly decreases birth interventions including: 50% decrease in Cesarean births, 60% decrease in epidurals, 40% decrease in the use of Pitocin, 30% decrease in the use of narcotics, 30% decrease in the use of forceps, and overall, a 25% decrease in the length of labor. A doula provides non-medical comfort and support in labor and birth, but does not overshadow the father's role. Studies show that fathers participate more actively during labor in the presence of a doula than without one. Everyone deserves a doula, so please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss fees. As a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), I will make sure that your baby is breastfeeding successfully before I leave your birth. Let’s talk about the importance of electrolytes in labor.

Electrolytes are a fancy name for the minerals magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium. These minerals make up about 1.89% of our body weight and are vital to our nerve and muscle function.

Electrolytes are chemicals that conduct electricity when mixed with water, which is how they allow our muscles to contract and our bodies to move.
Your uterus is a muscle that needs to contract to birth your baby. When you sweat in labor (labor can be compared to running a marathon) your body looses water and electrolytes.

Try eating Honeydew during labor. Honeydew is made up of 90% water and filled with 4 electrolytes-potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium which is everything you will sweat out during labor. Honeydew is also filled with rich nutrients so eating during pregnancy is beneficial.

Fact is, man can not create anything that Mother Nature has already provided for us. Do not use synthetic electrolyte drinks during labor. They are filled with processed sugar, synthetic and chemically made electrolytes, food dye and high fructose corn syrup.
Start eating Mother Nature’s Gatorade like Honeydew, your body will thank you!
