Another great North Star Networking lunch in the books 🙌

One of the best parts of this group is that it doesn’t stop at our weekly meetings. We make time to get together outside of that too, whether it’s for lunch, coffee, or just connecting in a more relaxed setting. These monthly lunches are such a great way to actually slow down, have real conversations, and get to know each other beyond the quick updates and handshakes.

And let’s be honest… this is where a lot of the real relationships are built. Sitting around a table, sharing stories, talking business, and finding ways to support each other in a genuine way.

We also love supporting our local businesses while we do it, which makes it even better. Good food, good people, and a room full of connections that actually mean something.

We had an incredible turnout for Visitor Day this week 🙌

Seriously… the room was full, the energy was high, and there were so many new connections being made. Conversations were happening everywhere you turned, people meeting for the first time, exchanging ideas, sharing what they do, and already finding ways to support each other. That’s the kind of networking that actually matters.

It wasn’t just “show up and pass business cards.” It was real conversations, real relationships starting, and a whole lot of momentum being built in one room.

Huge thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a great morning. You made it what it was.

This week at North Star Networking, we heard from Alex Stay with Stay Clean Detailing, and it was such a refreshing kind of presentation.

Instead of focusing on packages and pricing, Alex talked about something that actually sticks with you… the stories behind the vehicles.

We had a great North Star Networking meeting this week with Aaron Zimmer, a Wealth Management Advisor with Jacobs Financial right here in St. Cloud.

And before that word “wealth” scares anyone off, you don’t have to be wealthy to work with him. Aaron works with people at all stages, whether you’re just getting started or already building momentum.

Aaron walked us through the why behind investing, not just the “what", and that’s where a lot of people get stuck.

He broke things down in a way that makes sense:
• Understanding your time horizon (short, medium, long-term)
• Risk vs. return and how they go hand in hand
• Stocks vs. bonds and what role each plays
• Growth vs. value investing
• And the difference between investing through work vs. personal accounts

One of the biggest takeaways? The earlier you start investing, the more it can work in your favor. And you don’t have to be putting away huge amounts of money every month, just start with something.

What we really appreciated is that it’s not one-size-fits-all. It starts with asking the right questions and building a plan around your life and your goals.

This week we heard from David Vee with Summit Real Estate Team at Edina Realty, and one thing that really stood out? There’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach when it comes to real estate.

David has been in the game for 16 years, and instead of forcing people into a process, he adjusts to them. No rigid pitch. No cookie-cutter experience. Just meeting clients where they’re at and working in a way that actually fits their personality.

He broke down the four personality styles—dominant, influence, steady, and cautious—and how understanding those differences completely changes how you communicate and guide someone through buying or selling a home. It was a great reminder that real estate isn’t just transactions… it’s people.

And then there were the “7 D’s” that drive real estate:
Diapers, death, diamonds, divorce, diplomas, defaults, and d-relocation.

Life changes… and real estate follows.

David works with a wide range of clients and situations, and his ability to adapt is clearly what’s kept him successful for so long.

This week at North Star Networking, we heard from Andrew Guthmiller with Car Concierge, and if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed buying a car, this one hit home.

After spending a decade in traditional car sales, Andrew flipped the script and moved to the customer side of the table. Now he helps people actually navigate the process instead of getting steamrolled by it.

He walked us through how he starts with a full intake—what you want, what you need, what actually fits your life—and then does the legwork from there.

One thing that stood out? About 60% of vehicles are shipped in. Why? Because what you want isn’t always local, and sometimes it’s just cheaper elsewhere.

Buying a car isn’t simple. There’s no standard pricing, endless makes and models, confusing fees, financing variables, and every dealership does things differently.

And maybe the biggest takeaway—car sales pitches are often disguised as “help.”

Andrew’s approach cuts through all of that and actually puts the buyer first.

Big thank you to Bill Syverson for presenting this week at North Star Networking!

Bill, an attorney focused on business law and estate planning, broke down something we don’t always think about until we need it… why legal work actually matters.

It really comes down to two things: peace of mind and protection.
Not flashy, not exciting… but absolutely critical when life or business throws something unexpected your way.

He also shared a perspective that hits home for all of us in business—legal services aren’t a commodity. They’re built on relationships, trust, and reputation. People don’t just hire a lawyer… they hire someone they trust, often through referrals and connections.

And the big reminder: real business development takes time.
The relationships you’re building today might not turn into work tomorrow—or even this year—but they matter. Stay consistent, stay connected, and keep showing up.

This is exactly why groups like North Star Networking exist—to build those relationships over time, support one another, and create opportunities that don’t happen overnight.

This week at North Star Networking, we heard from Jordan Hess with Advantage One Insurance in St. Cloud during our weekly member presentation.

Jordan walked us through the different types of insurance coverage people should consider and why having the right coverage in place matters more than most people realize.

He also shared practical advice about what to do if you're involved in a car accident, including the steps to take, what information you should gather from others involved, and how the process can differ depending on whether the accident happens on public or private property.

It was a great reminder that preparation and the right coverage can make a stressful situation much easier to navigate.
