We've been whipping up something tasty again! This month we baked French apple cakes using diced apples and a touch of rum flavoring. Topped off with powdered sugar and a side of ice cream, this treat was worth every bit of our effort!

Congratulations to Crystal, our August 2025 Employee of the Month! Crystal started working for Dove Healthcare - St. Croix Falls as a hospitality aide in 2024. Crystal then transferred to the maintenance department where she is making great progress and working hard. Nothing beats putting smiles on the residents’ faces, but she also loves to mow the lawn! Crystal is very dedicated to her job. She is willing to help on the weekends and comes in on late night calls when needed. Crystal goes above and beyond to make sure our residents enjoy a clean, comfortable place to reside.

We are happy to introduce you to Dove Healthcare’s new Vice President of Operations, Jennifer Burklund!

A 2010 graduate of the health care administration program at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Jennifer comes to us with over 15 years of long-term care experience. She has spent the majority of her career in Wisconsin nursing homes in a variety of roles; most recently, regional operations support.

Jennifer shared, “I am privileged to lead the team at Dove Healthcare. My priority is to ensure those we serve receive the highest standard of care, and our team feels valued, supported and is set up for success."

Jennifer grew up in New Auburn and lives in Bloomer with her daughter and son. She enjoys spending time with her family, staying active outdoors, travelling with her significant other, Matt, and relaxing on the lake.

We're looking fresh off the beach at our luau party! We kicked back with fruit kabobs, beach pudding, and a drink from the Tiki bar. Our team entertained with a ping-pong hula dance-off, participated with residents in a 'Best Leg' Contest, and played a round of pass the coconut.

These little piggies went wee wee wee all the way down the track! We love a good race and these cute pigs were the center of attention. They strutted their stuff to the finish line multiple times, because we just couldn't get enough laughs!

From hospital to inpatient therapy to outpatient AND BACK to PICKELBALL!

Bruce came to Dove Healthcare - St. Croix Falls after a lengthy five-week hospital stay. He had lost stability and overall strength. During his time with us, Bruce worked hard to gain it all back and then some!

Bruce discharged home and continued coming for outpatient therapy to continue working on higher level strength, stability, and a specialty treatment for lymphedema management.

Here's what Bruce reported about his stay with us:

“The entire staff was top notch, from top to bottom. They were all caring, compassionate, and polite. I don’t have anything bad to say about any of them. 10/10 experience!”

“The food experience was excellent. I looked forward to it every meal. Kudos to the cooks.”

“Outpatient therapy has worked out excellent. It’s timely, and I’ve had huge success.”

“I would definitely recommend Dove Healthcare - St. Croix Falls as the place to go for rehabilitation and recovery. I already have told people, and I’m not getting paid to say that!”

We are excited to announce the HomeGROWN promotion of Emily Gudis to director of operations for Dove Healthcare’s six assisted living locations!

Emily is responsible for overall performance and operations, which includes supervising the assisted living directors and assisted living nurse consultants. Our assisted living locations will benefit greatly from an enhanced, collaborative focus on developing goals, implementing strategy, identifying efficiencies, and leveraging resources

Dove Healthcare has experienced great success over the years with our HomeGROWN approach: recognizing passion, dedication, and capabilities in team members and then supporting them with growth as opportunity arises.

Emily is the perfect fit for this new position having achieved multiple promotions since joining our team almost 10 years ago. She has advanced from resident assistant, lead resident assistant, assistant director, director, multi-location director, and administrator.
